I've done a search and there really doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there on the Trilink. I saw Torinthal's install thread and read the hole thing but that was the only thread with any meat to it. It was quite comprehensive but there was no compairison to the other systems out there.

Has anyone driven both of these setups ?

For that matter, is there a preference on the MM vs Griggs ?

I know the Trilink install is a pain and requires some drilling. The Griggs website says theirs requires cuting and subsiquent patching of the trunk area. I didn't notice the need to cut into the trunk in the install instructions from MM.

Which of these setups is really the king of the hill and why ?

For the love of God, please no one start the panhard vs watts debate. I'm already decided on that issue and its not directly related so keep it out of here please.

I'm not super worried about how hard either is to install but I do worry about these upgrades playing well in the sandbox with other mods. Whats the story with subframe connectors, exhaust, sway bars and etc ? Any interfearence issues there or with anything else ?

Hopefully we will get a good shootout going here. At the end of the day, I'm most interested in which one handles best. At some point down the line, I'd like to get rid of those stupid upper control arms.

I just took a look at the 5 link and the 5 link 2.

The 5 link didn't seem very impressive. Seemed like a panhard bar, removed upper control arms and and extra axle locator that hangs off of one of the upper control arm locations.

The 5 link 2 was more impressive, it had the nice adjustable sway bar and looked a lot more promissing. Still uses what looks like a panhard bar. This isn't the direction I want to go. Unless someone can tell me that this setup out performs a torque arm with a watts or a 3-link with a watts then I'm not going to touch it.

I personally am going to get the MM TA, Panhard bar and LCA's (already have). I have heard nothing but good things about this setup. There is no cutting, but you might have to modify your H/X pipe, and maybe your tail pipes depending on the brand. You will need subframe connectors to mount the TA, they have kits for either round or rectangular (rectangular being better).

Based on the research I have done, I know this is what I am going to do. My LCA's made such an improvement that I was totally sold on more MM suspension components- Unfortunately I broke my trans so now all my cash has to go to that....

If I had unlimited money I would go complete griggs double a arm in the front, torque arm in the back with a watts link. But for the money I think I am going to go with maximum motorsports. They both make a really good product. Plus if you are in santa barbra you can drive to san luis obispo and check out the maximum motorsports shop, I bet thier parts are cheaper there. Griggs is up in sonoma at the track.

I'll be in SLO for work on thursday... I wonder if I can get the other person going with me to agree to check it out. I'm up there provably one a month or every other month at least. I didn't realize they were up there.

I will be calling the different places up and asking. I need to do more research on roll center and what not so that I can call BS if they start hiting me with marking instead of facts.

 Thats exacly what i eventually want to do with mine:D

I'm not running it on a 99+....but I have lots of MM gear on my 92 LX and it handles like a dream.

MM torque arm
MM LCA's
Front/Rear strut tower brace
sway bar, front rear.
Panhard bar
Full length SFC
no UCA's.

For the money, I think MM is hard to beat. I'm not sure I've ever seen a comparison between products like you're asking...no true lap time comparisons or anything.

Good luck, nothing like a corner carver! :D

Here's a pic of my rear....again its not a 4.6 but MM products are solid IMO. Take it for what its worth.

MM stuff is the most durable, so that is 1 thing you will want to consider if you are driving the car on the street... Griggs stuff is excellent, but is not made to be as durable on the street, its more about weight savings.....

I have the complete MM setup on my car, except have yet to install my torque arm... The install doesnt require any cutting except for at the rear end of the midpipe (flanges need to be moved back a few inches) if you get the HD version of their TA. It does require welding of the crossmember to the subframes, but besides that it is a bolt in deal. The PHB will not clear any aftermarket tailpipes except Flowmaster & dynomax without modification...

That being said, I love the way my car handles with the MM parts. Their parts are the best bang for the buck, are the most durable, & will absolutely transform the sloppy feel of a stock Mustang into confident & predictable car... Their customer service is top notch as well......

Go to www.corner-carvers.com and read up on suspension tech there. I'm sure there are many discussions about this very topic there, as well as real life feedback rather than speculation.

Be weary though: don't ask questions before you've completely EXHAUSTED your search options or they'll rip you a new one.

I've been thinking about heading over there but I know those guys are really brutal.

A question about torque arms and group clearance. Anyone with torque arms have issues with it scraping on speed bumps or dips ? Santa Barbara isn't as friendly to my lowered suspension as LA was. Ground clearance is one of the reasons I'm really considering the EvM TriLink.

EPIK when you get that TA installed i wanna hear about it. I've been really thinking about going the same route suspension wise as your car:nice:

I have been saying that for a long time. I have always wanted the panhard bar, LCAs, and TA...

The price of that watts link from griggs is completely unreasonable. $700+ ? I should try and make my own and sell them for some $$$$!
