I don't post alot but I respect Stangnet opinions. They led me to a pretty powerful car thus far. Unfortunately, my prize GT was damaged in some pretty terrible hail storms here in the Midwest in early May. :dammit: Thats one insurance claim. Then, two weeks ago, I wrecked my brand new Harley and it will likely be totalled out. :nonono: I will be back to one toy and thanks to GAP coverage, no loan payment on the Harley.

I'm on the mend from a broken ankle/injured leg and thinking about the possibilities for the car. I could put the money into fixing the hail damage on the car and continue to build or I could remove all the good stuff I put on and try to get an 03 or 04 Mach 1. I always liked Machs. Alot of the parts I own will convert to a Mach. I think I can re-use my ProCharger with the purchase of a new bracket and some piping changes. Or I can keep pumping cash into my GT, which has been nothing but reliable, with 104K on the odometer.

What you guys think. Stay with my trusty GT or save for the upgrade, in Mach 1 form. Thanks. Sorry for the long post, got a little time on my hands. :flag:

If you sell your gt what would you have to drive around before you found a Mach? Or did I misread and you already have one? Only reason why I ask is that if you sell the GT and are forced to find a car right away that will limit your search alot.

The complicated part of the matter is I do have alot invested in my GT. There are some mods which are not reversible(subframe connectors, gears). But it is a 2V with over 100k. The car is pretty clean, been garage kept but keeping it means I have to contend with the hail damage. I don't know how easy the car would be to repair or how clean it would be after PDR.

If you're worried about PDR, don't be. My car got pounded by 3"+ diameter hail when the tornadoes blasted through the DFW area and I had a destroyed cowl, multiple cracks in the windshield, and about 2-3 dozen dents in the fenders, roof, and quarter panels and they did only PDR and it turned out exactly the way it was before the damage. I was very happy. However, I didn't pay a dime thanks to insurance so that might make a difference.

Get the car repaired and THEN figure out what you're going to do. If you don't sell the GT, you're going be out a ton of money. If once you get it repaired, you decide you still want a bullit, then it will at least be in selling condition before you pull the trigger.

It is pretty cool getting the drop on more powerful cars. Blower whine does give it away most of the time. My friend has a 98 Cobra with 500 rwhp. It would stick in his craw if I ended up walking him with my GT, which he refers to as an inferior car to his Cobra. Cool points for build GTs being kinda sleeper.
