I know this has probably been answered several times in the forums, but through a search I found maybe only a couple titles of it. Which probably means it hasnt been talked about for a bit. Also if there are any new ideas since those I would like to hear about those.

I have some extra bones after tax time and am looking at upgrading my 01 GT(48k miles)and I think you guys call "slow-a-matic". I bought it last spring and hadnt done anything to it besides some basic maitenance and new head light lens(oxidization). I noticed that someone has put Steeda Springs(I think adjustable?), K &N Filter and Flowmasters mufflers on the car.

I was thinking of doing the whole exhaust system as a start. Not sure if I will get the headers on this shot. I am NOT in an emission check county so i can get those cats off if need be. Do you guys think this is a good place to start? It is a daily driver as well.
Thanks for any input on this, have a great weekend!

Just a few questions then on the gear idea. First off, what brand do you suggest. I had heard that there are some brands that just dont fit as well as others. Also I noticed that the first reply mentioned 3.90s and the last 2 stated 4.10s, how much fuel economy will I be losing with either? Like I said, this is my daily driver. What is the stock gear ratio on these cars?

It depends on if you see alot of highway (65-70mph) driving. If you see alot of it it may be best to go with 3.73s. The difference between 3.90s and 4.10s isn't much.

I think the stock gearing is 3.27s.

Either way you go I would stick with FRPP gears unless you go with 3.90s since FRPP doesn't make 3.90s.

My buddy had 4.30's in his sprayed GT, quite a fun ride that was.

4.10's are a good gear though. 4.30's were steep in his for DD but he didnt care.

Are you on Jeepforum.com also? Seems like I talked to a fellow Stanger/Jeeper over there with that screen name a while ago.

Not I, if that who this question was from.

Alright while out checking the net for the 4.10s, I noticed that some were selling those with a coating, is thiere any benefit? I went to american muscle and I couldnt get it to link up to the 99-04, it always went back to the 87-93 link. I assume they require the same set? Here is the link
