UPR X pipe Installed.....my opinions...feel free to comment

I put mine on last night. I get the same rattle, X pipes are raspy like that. BUT, also check the bolts where it bolts onto the exhaust manifolds. They come lose VERY easily.

Mine is coupled with dynomax race bullets (which are straight through) so I almost have straight pipe exhaust now. At 1900-2400 RPM it screams like a freakin school girl, and the sound is so loud it bounces off every passing vehicle and gets louder. I'm gonna put the stock mufflers back on :(

could you describe the rattling some more?

Anyhow, I love to hear my exhaust when it bounces off other objects.. (cars, wall, etc..) but my favorite place to drive would be teh tunnel :nice:

man you shouldnt have said that... i just got my license back today  and when i would go through tunnels on the freeway ... i would always floor that sucker with just my flows...now im gettin the xpipe installed ...oh man ....gotta test it out

A little trick I learned. If the UPR X is a little low to the ground untighten the bolts and use a floor jack and jack up the pipe then bolt it back up. Mine used to drag like crazy until i did that now it fits like stock

Thats exactly how I put mine on, it was too low so we jacked up the pipe and rebolted :nice:

BTW, just an update guys: Today I put my stock mufflers back in (the dynomax race mufflers sounded like ****). The sound of the UPR pipe with the stock mufflers is very nice. When cruising around its not loud and won't attract cops. When you get on it, it screams. I might put some flowmasters on for a little more sound soon though.

I feel that the car pulls harder now, especially midrange and up top. I think its a little weaker down low, but the 4.6 has enough power down low so that its fine. All I know is in my automatic GT with the UPR pipe and a K&N/silencer delete, I floored it from a dead stop on an empty road and I was at 70mph much quicker then I used to be! :D

I'm curious what this rattle is? I have had my X on for a year and I have never had this problem. Could you have dropped something in the pipe? Or is the exhaust vibrating something else instead that might be loose? When I installed mine I found that the bolts holding the mid pipe to the catback where only finger tight and wouldn't have lasted much longer and this was with only 4k miles on the car.

Does anyone have a problem with their bolts coming lose, especially where it bolts up to your exhaust manifold? I lockighted it down, hopefully it'll keep it in there now.
