hey guys. figured i snap a couple pics of this bad boy before its in the car. everything seems to be good...i think all the parts are there and in good condition. got the novi 2000 and intercooled setup. hope this things makes some good power on top of the Vt stroker block i have comming!

one question though. i dont know how they measure the blower pullies i thought it was just in inches? this pully is supposed to be a 3.0 8 rib. it does appear to be 8 rib but check out the pics, it is wider then the 3 inch mark. does this mean it is the wrong pully?

is this a 3.0 pully? thanks guys

looks like a 3.25 pulley to me.

paxton pulleys come in 1/4 increments

you should be measuring across the center orthe hole. it may be a 3.5 pulley which would be stock

i tries to measure across the center and the widest part of the pully. so you are saying that a 3.0 pully should be exactly 3 inches, right? because this is definatly a little over.

Intercooled kits come with the 3.25in pulley if I'm not mistaken. Non - Intercooled have the 3.5in pulley.

but you have to measure the belt surface itself, not the lip

i thought where the belt went is just either 6 or 8 rib which could be done just by counting the grooves right?

Yeah, the belt sits in the groove right?

So if you measured from groove to groove it should be exactly 3".

Groovy?

ohhhhh! i see what you guys are saying, so you think it could be the 3.0 pully? it is real hard to measure the inside belt surface area, but i guess if its 3.25 across then i subtract the tiny lip on each side (which is too small to measure) then i guess it is close to 3in.

I can't wait to see what your car does. How much boost you planning on putting in that stroker block?
And after reading how to measure those pulleys I'm confused. Good luck with that.

well, i think after taking a little off for the lip that extends out from where the belt lies, then it seems as if it would be a 3.0 in. i suppose. ill keep it and throw it on to see how it does.

i cant wait either. i have to call vt to get the block started. i estamate it will be about the end of july when i get the install started. i still have to get a lot of parts. fuel pump, injectors, bap, gaskets, bolts, maf, plugs, mini blow off valve, 8 rib pullies....and im sure there are a couple other things i forgot.

once i have all that i can start saving for some of the labor costs!!!

then ill have it all put together and start the break in for the new engine. after 500 miles, i will get the REAL tune and see what this thing puts down.

not sure on what boost im gonna get out of the 3.0 pully on this set up....i have a lot of parts that will free up air flow i have no idea.

in the end i will put about 15psi on the stroker and see what kind of numbers i make. im hopin i chose a small enough pully to make about that boost but if not ill try the boost pipe or pully down.

i know how you feel about waiting for an engine to come together. i have finished most of my stuff: cobra tank, dual GT pumps, 60# injectors, 8 rib kit is here along with the bassani headers, new block, manley i beam rods, cobra crank, canton oil pan, MPH blower cams and a few other goodies just sitting around.

wow, i just realized i have a **** load of parts!!

well, thanks guys! saleen good luck with your build. it takes some time and a lot of cash to get these things together, but hopefully in the end it is all worth it! lol!

you know what i noticed that the tag on the novi i got is different then the ones i saw in the past. on mine it just says novi paxton then etched in real small is the 2000 for model #. in the past didnt it say novi 2000 real big on the tag?

strange that they would change that.
