Well, you'll get as many opinions as there are owners. Ultimately, you'll have to choose.
First, I think you'll make 400hp either way you go.
You'll need to do some reading, though and figure out what you believe.
I went with the Vortech 4 years ago. I don't know about the current P1SC kit, but at the time I bought mine, they mounted the Supercharger off the factory A/C bracket, and used a longer belt to drive the Supercharger. I read several posts where owners thought the A/C bracket was flexing enough to throw belts. This was an issue for me, as if it did throw the belt, you were done. No water pump, no driving it home. The Vortech used a seperate belt, so if it broke, there was a good chance it wouldn't take out your other main drive belt, and you could at least limp it home. The Air intake was under the hood, which drew in underhood air. With the Intercooler, though, this may be a moot point. They do offer the OPTION of an intercooler, you don't have to buy it with one (at least at that time).
Self lubricating, I could go either way. You have to tap the pan on a Vortech, but it really isn't that hard....
I DO wish I had an Intercooler option, but with the advent of reliable Methonol Injection units, we can approach the same timing levels as an intercooled car. Right now I'm at 20 degress total, and can probably get close to 28 with a water/meth kit.
These were the things I thought about, along with the price. I got mine for 2724 from YearOne. I had a 25% off coupon for Christmas that year, so I made out.....
I don't remember the Procharger price, but it was more than 1000.00 more.....
Once you have one, then all the other fun starts....
400 won't be enough......
