Vortech or Procharger???????

I was lookin at anderson ford motorsports vortech kits for the 94 95 are they worth while or just over priced??? They dont have a kit for procharger for my year but I was thinkin of doing a procharger as opposed to a vortech.... I DONT KNOW I was thinkin procharger because of the intercooler. I know prochargers are more $ usually and vortechs less. Which do you guys think is the best choice and where is the best place to buy??? and will I hit the 400 mark easily with my setup? Thanks!

You see my choice in my sig. And you see the hp as well.

Each system has its pros and cons...you just ahve to decide what is right for you.

the vortech is reliable, but it doesnt make as much power but its cheap
the procharger has the intercooler but it has been known to have issues with the seals on it. $$$$

just do you research... :D

Well, you'll get as many opinions as there are owners. Ultimately, you'll have to choose.
First, I think you'll make 400hp either way you go.
You'll need to do some reading, though and figure out what you believe.
I went with the Vortech 4 years ago. I don't know about the current P1SC kit, but at the time I bought mine, they mounted the Supercharger off the factory A/C bracket, and used a longer belt to drive the Supercharger. I read several posts where owners thought the A/C bracket was flexing enough to throw belts. This was an issue for me, as if it did throw the belt, you were done. No water pump, no driving it home. The Vortech used a seperate belt, so if it broke, there was a good chance it wouldn't take out your other main drive belt, and you could at least limp it home. The Air intake was under the hood, which drew in underhood air. With the Intercooler, though, this may be a moot point. They do offer the OPTION of an intercooler, you don't have to buy it with one (at least at that time).
Self lubricating, I could go either way. You have to tap the pan on a Vortech, but it really isn't that hard....
I DO wish I had an Intercooler option, but with the advent of reliable Methonol Injection units, we can approach the same timing levels as an intercooled car. Right now I'm at 20 degress total, and can probably get close to 28 with a water/meth kit.
These were the things I thought about, along with the price. I got mine for 2724 from YearOne. I had a 25% off coupon for Christmas that year, so I made out.....
I don't remember the Procharger price, but it was more than 1000.00 more.....
Once you have one, then all the other fun starts....
400 won't be enough......

The term cheap makes one think the quality is inferior.
I was never unhappy about the quality of the components used in my Vortech kit.
(except for that damn plastic discharge tube....)

Id have to say Vortech but Im bised b/c I have a Paxton ( same company) I was going to go w/ a prochager before the Novi but the stories of the leaking head units turned me off. If your not going to run mad amounts of boost you dont need a Intercooler on a centri blower anyway. Just look at all the 5.0 Mustangs running around out there w/ Vortechs on them pushing around 10 PSI , its pretty common.
