(sidenote): Vortech arrived in CA 2 weeks ago Monday.. Ive called every few days to find out the status...they keep telling me that THEY WILL CALL WHEN THEY HAVE AN ANSWER AS TO THE PROBLEM

I called back again today, and the Service Mng said "There's a note here that they called LAST THURSDAY, and you were off of work"

I said "I GAVE THEM 3 Numbers to call, and even if they didnt have them, why did they NOT call me again" They dude said the guy that put in the note has since been fired for other things :damnit:

Anyway.. the repair was what they call their "minor" which is $369. (major includes gears and is about a grand). BUT, the housing case is damaged, and that's another $250 for that....The Total is $613

GOOD NEWS: I originally wanted their $69 SB Oil feed line, which comes with a steel fitting for the VOrtech. They guy said he would "throw it in there for free" At least something good. He also said that he would give me their $49 tensioner pully plate for $29 (This is the plate that attaches to the Vortech and can be tightened down with a 3/8" socket to tighten the belt......In many of them, the 3/8" ratchet square holes are "rounded" off from continuous tightening.

Should be end of next week to get it back.

Just wanted to share the info!

You "could" say that, it's just that besides the $36k+ pool that they are just now finishing up in my back yard, it's cost another $5k for the "supporting" stuff:

Re-sod and dirt ($2k including ficus)
Ficus hedges (havent even paid for any landscape plants yet)
Gutters to surround the back deck.
2 new sliding screen doors.
12 alarms for all my windows ($25 each)
$800 to reroute the sprinkler system in the back yard.
$3k for the Hoopty.

All this adds up. At least with my hoopty Escort, I have time to work on the car the right way....should look nice with the SB oil feed line.

I Would fairly easily see 8-10# with stock pulley...sometimes more if I get on hard, instead of easing into it.

So far so good with the HG's...I think it's because the stockers are still on there, and theyre probably "Stuck shut" on there.

Housing case is the internal portion that houses the bearings. Appearantly they were damaged by the bad bearings.

Im just wondering what makes these things go bad.

At least the Vortech will be like new, and Ill be able to sell it next year if I go with the 347.
