To all vortech owners,

I am a big fan of the vortech kits and its finally time to make a move to get one. Ok so the modular powerhouse kit seems great for $3,900 but I can get a new polished kit from Vortech for $3,420. The only down side to the kit from vortech is that the fuel pump is not as good as the svt focus pump from mph. the injectors are 38# where as the mph is 42#. I have to use the stock MAF and mph's tune is "better".

So the question is what should I do? My goal in the long run is 400 RWHP. How different in performance are the kits? What estimated 1/4 time should be expected after the install? Is the perfomance gain worth the cost?

Thanks, Justin

definetley get the MPH kit. you'll quickly max out the pump and stock maf that Vortech would have you use. I know because i've been there.

with a 5spd, you could dip into the low 12's with good driving/conditions. is it worth it? that's up to you and how you value your money. when gas was $1.30, yeah it was worth it to me. would i buy a s/c kit now if i didn't already have one? probably not.

+1 Plus you can still get a polished one from MPH for more $$.

The performance gain is totally worth it. Order the kit from MPH, it is the best kit you can get. If you want to hit 400rwhp then you will need a maf, fuel pump, and tune right away with the vortech kit.

I got the mongoose kit and never looked back!! Also, if you drive the car easy you can still get 18mpg with a SC.
