Someone has a VR4 3000GT with twin turbos. He has a few mods, but he recently got bigger turbos. Someone told me he has like 500 hp....is that possible???? Do i have a chance to take him with a 2001 cobra with exhaust mods programmer and intake system.??? Also he said he took a modded 03 cobra--with pulley and exhaust and intake--so the cobra probably had 430 to the wheels???or 500+ hp

Thanks

They are AWD so he'll probably get you off the line, but they are turds weighing in at almost 3800lbs...but they did come with 320hp stock and if he's upgraded stuff it's very possible with more boost that he's making 500hp...You'd have to drive like a maniac to beat him in an N/A Cobra...

We'll with the bigger turbos the guy told me he was running 700+ hp--he said like stock was 500+ or something outrageous..am i the only one that thinks that 6 cylinder couldn;t handle 500 or 700 hp??

a stock twin turbo eclipse, with the boost turned up can run 12.2, but that is just what my friend said his did at the local track.

Aren't Eclipses Single Turbos? I highly doubt a completely stock Eclipse with only a little more boost is going to run low low 12's...You'll need a few other parts for that even if the engine/drivetrain could handle it with the stock parts...

heh i dont doubt it, i got some dsm buddies with some fast cars, 1st off there AWD helps :) all they have is front mounts and upgraded factory turbos from the later model n stuff...then again when theyre fast they r usually arent runnin on pump gas, hehe

I was playing with a VR4 a week or two back as a matter of fact. We were pacing each other on a busy road with some traffic. He had atleast aftermarket exhaust. We let the cars in front of us get going and we slowed down so we had some room to play. We both hit it at around 35mph, I was still in first gear. I pulled on him to about 60 or so, about 1 car length barely, that was about it. Could not really go all out because of traffic and a light up a head, I also did not take it all the way to redline. I had a feeling if we could have run he may have hung at my rear bumper for a bit. I was surprised to say the least. I always liked the VR4, the N/A ones are dogs. :nono:

If he says he has 700hp, tell him to bring the timeslips or show up at the track. We had a kid in our neighborhood with a "420-450hp 3000GT" yet for some reason my 97 COBRA which is completely stock except for flowmasters, cai, and a shifter beat him twice with a 14.1 and I am not that good a driver.

Now how in the world does a 3000GT even get close to a 550+ hp Cobra??? I would of thought you could barley see him. Did you push in on the gas pedal??
The VR4 is a twin turbo. He may have had some mods. Like I said we ran to 60 mph. He was at my rear bumper. What part are you having trouble with? If we were able to run further I am certain I would have walked him. :D

actually they made a single turbo one, which is the gs, I think, and a twin turbo one gsx. The names might be wrong, but his car has twin turbo from the factory. He had his uncle turn up the boost, and after running it, turn it back down, he said he could tell they weren't going to be happy for long at that level. But what do I know

as for the vr4 blakegt if he is modded he may be quick and very fast if he truly does have upgraded turbos. only vr4 in my area runs low 13's with basic bolt ons and more boost. so you may be in trouble. but the only way to really find out is to run it.
