Just got the cams installed and put this togther quickly. Finally got the car to idle but had to bring it up to 900rpms almost which is to high. Its going in for a tune next friday at power surge performance by sal (does predator tunes and have a predator). I'll post up numbers then. The weather hasnt been good but finally was able to find a road dry enough to get on it and it def pulls harder up top. They sound nice also. Didnt want to start 2 times today had to crank it over for a little then finally turned over. Someone said car could be to retarted and to advance the timing but hey its getting tuned in a week if it does it after then i'll worry....any ideas why it would not start?

(takes a couple of secs for the link to show up only place i know of that hosts for free...you'll see it say like 30 secs to the link available or something)

I'd like to hear what the numbers are...I installed the VT Stage 1 cams and gained 33rwhp and 13rwtq...definitely had to have the car tuned though

I LOVE THAT SOUND!
And it looks like, as far as engine mods, thats the only thing in there! (im not discounting all the other stuff, but im focusing on engine work) Wow! I want cams now! I didnt realize it was just a drop in

went with the stage 2's because they pull further up top and with the 4.10s the car stays up top. Also plan on doing more to the car in the future and felt that i might as well do it right hte first time. In the long run stage 1s would have been enough and the stage 2's would still give me better gains as of now even though they are not living up to the full potential. I wasnt going to do the cams but blew my head gasket so it paid to do it only cost me an extra 200. I did put comp valve springs in also.

hoping for a 12.9 next time to the track...last time i launched the car from 4,200 rpms on drag radials and got thrown off the pedal got back in it but hte car bogged and ran a 13.5 and i wasnt powershifting.

Did you have a hard time doing the install? Also did you use the AFM tool or take the front cover off?

stage 2's are not a nitrous cam, stage 2's are a na cam. A nitrous cam is not actually needed unless you are doing a very big shot. For a typical 75-125 shot the vt stage 2's are actually very good. They have have an emphasis on exhaust which is great for nitrous.

just curious, why didnt MM tune your car after the cam install? i would think a stage 2 cam would need some kind of tune to run properly.
