No this is not a thread asking for vids LOL....I HAVE ONE. ENJOY! (Thanks Csledd) More on the way later tonight maybe. (track and dyno)Alrighty, thats all of them...for now :D .

Question: When you taped the sound at idle was the car warmed up? The reason I ask is I had an old Firebird w a certain cam years ago that sounded great cold, but resumed a stock note once warmed up. Does this Stage 1 cams sound like this at idle all the time? Thanks!

No it wasnt fully, but it was getting there....and there was really not much diference its almost like the "it must be in my head" difference....very slight. Now after my tune it sounds about like that when its warmed up (idle was upped a touch), but if its not fully warmed up its hard to hear the cams...if the A/C is on the car sounds like stock :rlaugh: . I hate that, but ohwell.

BTW my 66 does what your firbird did, but not on that degree...it sounds more radicale cold than when hot....but it has 300*s of durration so the car shakes hard reguardless lol. It has a solid lift cam also.

HEHEHEHE...well travis and wilimson countys have to do a sniffer test, but i live in a small town (bastrop) and its not required. All large towns do though. I have heard of VT stg 1 cammed GT passing the sniffer, so I think I will be fine, even if it did come to our town.

Yea, I have the stock H....but im throwing on LTs here pretty soon...not really sure what im going to do. Ideas? Because I DONT want to pull the LTs off every year for inspection lol. (yes thats required :rlaugh: )

^ Chris? She probly wont like that much :rlaugh: . And yes it is VERY nice of her...I owe her 1..or 2-3-4-5...something like that.

No sniffer down here in San Antonio yet and I haven't heard any rumblings about initiating that here for a year or so. So the push to do it died down for now.

Street legal shorties are your only other choice. Ford Racing and JBA are the only street legal ones that I know of. If you still want to go with Long Tubes the only way to pass would be...

I heard that LT's will give you more power gains then shorties. So i decided to go with LT's.The only problem is , instalation is a PITA :nonono:

even if they do give you more power out here in Cali in the areas where emissions are strict you can't run them becasue you would have to bolt on the stock H-pipe so th eshorties will have to do even if the gains are minimal :(

I have been worrying about that for a while....but the LTs are already here....along with my new O/R X. I think im going to wait on the instal for a while and buy myself a tubualr K member to make LT changouts a snap for inspections. Cant beat the power of LTs....shortys just wont get me to my 300RWHP goal.

And yes a helmet is needed :D . I have an openface motorcycle helmet that I use.
