I found a guy in my area that has one of these intakes that he'll sell me for $50. Any of you guys have information on this intake? I have a 5.0 engine I plan on putting it on. From what I hear it is comparable to the Edelbrock Performer.

a.k.a. weiand stealth

there are two versions of the Weiand Stealth. one is like ours, the other looks more like a performer.

the one you have is probably just like mine but in different skin. its very close to the shelby style, but is a mirror image.

id take off the spacer. you shouldnt need it on the 5.0. The wall between the left plane and right plane (intake is dual plane) isnt goping to do its job correctly if you have the spacer.

I'm swapping out the long block for a 5.0 and AOD. What kind of setup are you running?

other style:

Right now I have a 5.0 roller cam block that is pretty much stock. I'm not doing a whole lot with this motor, just a decent intake and carb and maybe a cam at a later date. I already have some Hooker Comp long tubes. Enough to give it a little pep but be a good runabout. Later on I'm going to start building a motor that will give me 350-400 hp N/A but am unsure one what block to start on. I also have a C-4 tranny that I plan on swapping out for either a toploader or a T-5 later down the road, and when my wallet recovers

the weiand colt intake is a copy of the edelbrock F4B intake. for $50 you cant go wrong as it is a good intake to use.

I had this exact manifold on my 289 and I felt little difference between it and the cast iron 4v intake it replaced. I upgraded my cam to a "torker plus" grind and I thought I had gained gobs of power. Swapping to a Torker intake yielded me better performance all around, including off-idle. So anyway, I wouldn't use the Colt manifold on anything more than a mild better-than-stock cam. To get your car running since you don't have a manifold yet anyway, then you can't beat it for $50.

Looks shorter in runner height than the F4B/A321/Shelby "Cobra" high rise. First time I've seen or heard of this one.
