My buddy with the 03 Vette tells me he's going to buy a twin turbo kit for $20,000 now . The guy had to get a line of credit to get the loan for the car .

Holy crappers!!!! You better stop beating him or you'll bankrupt the poor guy! I'm suprised he actually takes that beast to the track. I know here in Manitoba, our insurance won't cover an accident if your racing at the track. If I owned that car and the guy I was racing came into my lane and bumped me, I think I'd just curl up into the fetal position and cry. .

The torque on the KB is nice but that can be made in gears with a centri blower. I easily rip the tires is third with 3.73's.

Not hating, I would like one. But the power potential with the Novi is better then the 1.7.

You're totally right. The Novi will make more peak power than my KB. The biggest thing I was worrying about was a roll cage. I want to make crap loads of power but I really, really, don't want a roll cage. I should be in the 11's with the 1.7 easily. As long as I don't go below 11.49 I don't need one. I can't see there being a problem making 500-600rwhp with the 1.7.

More importantly to racing is torque. Peak torque and torque curve. Torque = acceleration, basic physics. Races are won and lost in the first 60ft, the rest of the time you are just along for the ride. Whoever can generate the most torque and get it to the ground usually wins.

Well, kind of. Once you are rolling it is raw horsepower that will win in the end.

Lets say you got me out of the whole but if I have a 100hp advantage who will win. Usually the guy that can come on hard after the launch. All things equal then yes higher low end torque will win.

I think the 1.7 will be out of steam around 500hp though. Anyone I have heard making BIG power has the 2.2. Or the 2300AX Whipple.

That's half the fun, and that's why it's racing . You never know who's going to win. The 2.2 would definetely be awesome, so is your Novi, they both produce awesome power numbers when done right. My little 1.7 will sure give it a go though . I know for a fact the KB's give up the ghost close to half track. If there is such a thing with any supercharged car. They just don't keep accelerating like the Centri's will. The only hope is to get the car hooked and run it out of the hole hard. Don't get me wrong, a KB 1.7 will kill a Vortech S or T trim on a car equiped the same. As far as I'm concerned the Novi or Procharger D1SC+ are the only ones that can out perform one on the top end. The problem with the centri is you will always be playing catch up, if, and a big if it is, the KB can hook. That's why an 03-04 Cobra is so deadly on the street and strip. Good old positive displacement power. It would make for a hell of a race though!

The thing that makes me laugh is we are talking about some very extreme/potent cars as if they are nothing. Both our cars are going to be very, very, exceptional in the Mustang world. We should be happy we can actually do what we are doing, we're pretty lucky.

Considering mine will be the only one in Sask with that kind of power behind it.

I know there is a few down east, but not around here.

Sweet! I don't have that kind of luxury. There's this fella by the name of Lil' Red Rocket who's got a 97 Cobra who will be very tough to beat with his Procharger . That's going to make for a helluva race next year when we get to match two of the fastest street cars in Medicine Hat up against each other. Can't wait to see what happens. Should be a really good show for everybody. I hope I have enough for ya Lil' Red .

Why, what kind of power are you gonna be making? Also, what kind of quarter mile times are expected?

By that I meant the only 99+ Mustang making 600+ RWHP witht he potential to run 800 withthe right fuel system. I am expecting high 10's low 11's next year.

If anyone has or will have a higher HP new Mustang in the province I have not heard or seen it.

I didn't realize you meant the 99+ mustangs. Either way, good luck with the build, you'll have an awesome car!!

Not necessarily true. A centrifugal SC has the option to run more gears, for racing I wouldn't be afraid to run 4.56's with one. Now with the positive displacement SC, I wouldn't run more than a 4.10. I can guarantee you that a hooked 4.56 geared centrifugal SC will kill a hooked PD SC with 4.10's in the 60'.

We'll just have to see now won't we . Who would want 4.56's on a street car anyway? It would also take away some of the topend power the centri's are designed for. You'd run out of gear.

Again not necessarily true. It all depends on h what your goals are and what you want to accomplish. Like I said earlier, you have a lot more flexibility with a centrifugal SC over a PD SC, especially for a track car that may see the street.

By design a Centri will not, and i mean will not come out of the hole faster than a PD blower. A centri will always be RPM based, you can't change that. By gears you may help it get to RPM faster but it always realise on RPM. A positive displacement blower does not have that limitation. It contains stored pressure by design of the helical screws. A centri will never have a flat torque curve like a PD, it's impossible. Torque = acceleration. The only problem the PD has is getting it to the ground that's it. If you choose to debate it simple, show me dyno graphs to disprove me? Here's a KB, not the fastest out there but average. Find me an Average Centri that looks like this.
