Well went to the strip for the first time since getting 3.73's yesterday only got to make one pass because all the chevys kept blowing up.

Here's the slip

60' 2.35
1/8 9.54 at 75.41
1/4 14.70 @ 95.7

I spun it all the way through first but havent practiced launches really since getting the gears.

Also mt brother made one pass in the 86 w/357w cam intake stock 69 heads with bigger valves and 4.10's w/ c4. This was on 25" drag radials. He says he shifted into 3 but I dont think he did bc he said it ran out of gear right after the 8th and said it was tached out. What do yall think and about what would that 1/8 b good for through the 1/4

It ran:
60' 1.9
1/8 8.15 @ 86.04
1/4 12.74 @102.16

Only one pass the entire night. Ugh, that sucks. 2.35 is a burnout at the line.

Are you getting practice before the 14th? Did you got to No Problem to have the problems with the Chevies blowing up?

You're gonna nail those launches once you get the gears under control. Feel free to borrow my Nittos on the 14th if you want (NT555R 275/40R/17). Just bring a jack etc.

Did you notice a change putting on your Street Heat intake? Andy ordered one yesterday to put on his stock block. He's gonna have the full Street Heat kit eventually but found a good deal on the intake so he got that ahead of time.

Wes

P.S. I bet you can get a 13.999 with my tires and a good launch.

I could tell good bit of difference with the new intake. I went to hattisburg MS. My brother should have is lightning back by then and he is going to want to come to.
there was like a 98 stang there from gonzales I think it was purple with the real looking flames with I'm sure a stroker and it had a HUGE turbo sticking out the front. I didnt get to see it run bc I was in the staging lanes and he only ran it one time.

I haven't met the guy with the purple 'stang.

I think Mustangless lives around the Hattisburg track.

Sounds good on the lightning - it doesn't happen to be grey does it? I raced a guy with a lightning towards the first of the year at State Capitol and I think he was low 13s. Clean truck - love to hear those roots blowers.

Nah he just bought it last week and the damn thing ran lean and burnt a valve. It's suposed to be back together sometime this week. It's modded with steigmere spelling? stage 4 ported blower 4# crank pulley and jlt ram air intake and he is going to get it retuned by stanghigh in baton rouge when he gets it back.

Ah cool - did he check with Vince at L&S auto for tuning? www.lnsauto.com

I know Vince has experience with tuning the Lightnings and making good power - heck, I think they even made a couple parts for modded lightnings. Vince owns a supercharged Harley Davidson.

I haven't seen any trucks that Cody has tuned.

I would take it to Vince over Cody - Cody's personal car (a 95 Cobra) was converted over to a Fox EEC LOL. I've met them both and are both nice guys with good reps.

But a Fox conversion by a SCT tuner... need I say more?
