So since the stang is not on the road anymore, for the last3 Fridays, I had to go to the S.A.A.Q to get a "transit" so I can drive the car for a few days. I've been to the track almost every weekend in September. But I'm not sure if I mentioned this but I'm having trouble with the fuel pump since the beginning of the summer. It's not pumping enought fuel...I'm running way lean and the car is stuttering. Anyway...
Because of last weekend, or the past weekends(lots of burnouts), my clutch was really phocked again, even if I had the firewall adjuster and the quadrant. I had to fix it. So during the week, I'm in college so I dont have really time for this. Yesterday, it was raining all day so I didnt have time either. I was up at 6:30am this morning to go fix this. Had to lift the car, disengage the cable, change hooks (triple hook), re-engage the cable, adjust. It worked. Then I cleaned the stang from rubber still left behind the tires on the bumper. I'm all set. Time trials start at around 10am. I leave at 9am, get there at 9:30. Stop the car, start removing air from the passenger tire, then I go to the next one. WTF ! Chu t'à corde tabarnac ! Cords on the tire! I checked at home this morning(quickly) but that part of the tire must have been on the bottom(ground). So after 800-900kms my Drag radials are done
A LOT of burnouts (big ones) though...I was looking for a 12.6-12.7 today.

I'm at Luskville for the 3rd time this season. I ran 12's@108 all day the last time I came. I'm with my GF which is usually bad luck... The fuel pressure is really jumping everywhere on the gauge. From 24psi to 50psi ! I'm trying to adjust it on the afpr but doesnt work. I'm thinking that it's defective. I'm running 13.0-13.3 @106 all day.

I had swap the afpr for my stock one during the week to see if it was the problem. Same thing was happening. I put the adjustable back on. I go to Luskville "tricking" the afpr. Whatever I put it on(34psi vacuum on), after 15minutes of driving or one pass at the track, it goes down to 24-25psi. All the time. So I adjusted it at 45psi knowing that it was gonna drop to about 34psi !
It worked. I'm running 12.8@108 all day again. I'm not getting those good launch. So I try something new and I get a 1.79 60ft but the stupid electronic track system didnt work on the pass so I had no clue what I ran. I go again..1.77 60ft and the thing didnt work again also ! I was pissed. All day I was doing high 1.8's and doing 12.80's and now I knew I had launch pretty hard and I dont know what I ran. I do know it was an easy 12.7 but dont have it on slip so lets forget about that.
Last weekend
I go again with the digital videocam to get myself on tape. The day was a bit hotter than I expected (maybe 24*) and a bit windy. Wind was pusing on the driver side the whole day. I try my launch technique and here I go again right away on my 1st pass 1.79 60ft. Second pass 1.77 60ft. I know how to launch the car now pretty dam good
But the problem was something else. I was doing 12.8's all day again but @106mph. ????? I havent changed anything at all. The only thing was a hotter and windy day. Maybe the clutch but I'm not sure. But I was doing the same time with a lower trap so just imagine if I had my 108 trap speed again, I'd be 12.6-7 easy. I have the whole day on film. So I wait for them to put the compound. Track wasnt in too good shape. I'm second in line for that particular lane. I launch and holy cow did it ever flew ! I missed one shift in the day and it had to be on that pass, my best launch ever. 275/50/15 BFG Drag radials.......1.66 60ft Still pissed about it. This was a 12.6 run and everybody knows it. Man...
Thats why I had everything on my side today. A cold dry day, a fixed clutch, lots of compound on the track (racing day today) and a determined driver. But chit happens... Hope this is not the last time for me at the track with the stang. The car is worth more than 12.8 N/A you know. Sorry for the long post. I havent had time to really post anything. So I leave you with the pics from last weekend. Enjoy

I'm so disapointed when I watch that run on tape. But what a launch though
