It's believeable. His car is an LX so it's lighter than your GT, and speed density cars are known to be faster. A lot of people claim it's a very small difference, but my stock SD car runs a lot harder than any stock or bolt-on mass air car I've driven or raced. I will say it is tough to believe it ran that good with a stock converter AOD and 3.08s, but really, who's going to lie about a 14.9

No offense ryan, but I have to say I agree with RS, no way in hell did you run 14.9 w/ a 2.0 60', ESPECIALLY at 94 mph.

I can see it happening.

I only say that because when my '88 was bone stock, i ran a similar time.

14.8 @ 93MPH with a 2.1 60-footer on street tires. Car was stock down to the silencer with an AOD with 2.73's.

EDIT: ok just checked the slip, it was a 2.2 60-footer. I wonder if i had ET streets and got a good launch what i could have gotten.

well from my runs it seems like every tenth off my 60' was 2 tenths of my 1/4 time.

so if that held true with you and you got a 2.0' then i could see a 14.4 if not better...

Pretty damn good times for the limited mods and a vert aod. ET streets helped. The times are lower than expected but you did run et streets, which the holeshot in a stockish 5.0 is by far the most critical for a good time. A non decent takeoff ruins the whole run.

a couple different reasons i guess...one he doesnt want me to have to drive one in winter, he thinks that it not a smart idea letting me buy a 5 speed 5.0 to DD so he said i can get one if i stick with a auto... so auto it is for now..im gonna see if next next year i can put a 5 speed in it.

That's kinda odd considering a manual trans is considered easier to drive in the winter than an Auto.

I'm sure he has his reasons though.

He probably wants you to put more attention on the road than shifting gears. I can sort of see that reasoning as young drivers are more accident prone. A stick also can get you in trouble a little quicker than the auto's in the 5.0s. Respect your dad, get a year of experience under your belt, drive good and see if he'll cut you some slack. When I first started modding I had to hide everything but the exhaust, wheels, and shifter from my dad. Once he found out I had gears in though he didn't really care. I know when I was 16 with myn even stock I've put myself in situations I was lucky not to wreck or get a ticket.

thats what i plan to do...and my dad is sorta the same way...he dont me me to add any *go fast parts* although i plan to...its just a parent thing is what ive come to look at it...they dont want there kid to be hurt in a car wreck...i understand it...but id stil rather have a 5 speed... but if its got to be an auto for now then so be it...but with how cheap a good t-5 is up here ill just swap it to a 5 speed later one or if i end up selling this and buying another fox body it would for sure be a 5 speed...
