I recently subscribed to Motortrend TV and was tooling around looking at the various shows. I see Inside West Coast Customs and figure what the hell, see what foolish sh*t they’re building these days. Found an episode from only a year ago where they build a ‘93 GT. Turns out, they did pretty damn close to what I would do... Clean and simple. Even used some 18” SVE drift wheels rather than dubbing it out. It turned out clean as hell, with Maximum Motorsports everything, including coil overs and a PHB. Not sure if any of you heard about it, but a quick search came up with nothing so I figured I’d share. If you can believe it, the customer actually wanted the porno red interior over black. I actually dig it against the white exterior, although some of the dash/console touches are odd. Needs red vents, solid black shifter bezel, black A/C surround, etc. All in all though, very nicely done.

Looks awesome outside, good on the inside. I've always liked the drifts, even though I think they're a bit too big. 17s would look better, imo. It really doesn't look all that custom to me, but it does look clean. Thanks for sharing.

Sez you.

To me that interior looks hodge-podged. The wrong accents with to regard to color...no telling how much that pin head got reemed for that shop to do a rattle can detail on the interior.

Very little is painted. Door skins are leather, they sourced a porno red interior for most of the plastics And bought some missing parts from LMR. I mean let’s face it, it could have been a lot worse.

I don't think the drift wheels are too big, i just think the b/s is wrong. I have a buddy with some on his coupe and it just doesn't fit quite right. Bothers me.
The interior looks like it was built by a non-fox guy. Otherwise, it's clean and I like it - I love the porno red interior even.

Saw this episode a while ago. Not my choice for color, but it’s clean, simple, and for the most part, something anybody can do. Was nice to see for a change. Most of the shows build cars that go from show to show inside a trailer. At least this is more of a driver.
The LX hatch on the GT is something you don’t see often either.

I honestly prefer the red and blue interiors of old over the interiors of today. Black everything is overrated and played out...in my opinion.

I like it, I don’t mind the red interior but some of the black trim seems out of place. I’m hoping the paint on my white GT that I’m working on will come out looking like that on the outside. It should.

I'm just glade to see there was no:

Stalker front bumper used
No 5.0 emblem placed on the hatch
No cobra emblems on fenders
No color matched mirrors
No one piece head lights

Only thing that kind of bothers me from the interior is that the hvac plastic is painted and the seats aren't tweed.

Agreed!!

It's not bad, but there are some parts of the interior that are red that shouldn't be in my opinion. Like the center air bag section of the steering wheel, around the HVAC controls like has been mentioned, and maybe the gauge pod and shifter boot. There's also something a little odd about those front seat backs..... they look like they've been blown up like a balloon! Overall it's a pretty nice ride, but there's just a little too much red on the interior for my taste.

I think that's fairly typical of seats that have been recovered. It seems like most of the aftermarket offerings never have the "tight" look of the OEM coverings and tend to look overstuffed with wrinkles that could be worked out a lot better.

Why go through the trouble of filling holes and swapping the lx spoiler on in favor of the gt one? I mean I would assume all the r&d Ford did to justify the spoiler difference wasn't just bs right?
