well about 15 local stangs have a get together every other sunday, well tonight a new guy showed up with a 99-01 gt,( he looked like borat) and it cought my attention, so i went over and i started to look at it, and started talking to the guy, he told me that its a new motor and it full built!, he goes on to tell me its all forged, stroked to a 330, stage 2 P&P heads, cams, ect, and from what i saw it had LT's, o/r mid pipe, pro products typhoon intake, 75mm t/b & plenuim, cai, upd's, so i was like WOW!!, then i go on to ask the guy what kind of power it put down, and he said, it puts down 246rwhp, and 270rwtq, i asked him why it put down such a low hp number and he said that he had detuned to the low hp number, then i told him it was a nice car and walked a way.......

but whats with people? 330 stroker?!?!?!?! fully built motor and 246whp

I have heard of a 324...but not a 330. A 330 is the same CI as a 5.4L modular...like in the lightnings. I think its BS on that part.

As for the HP...something is either wrong or hes flat out lying. I could see detuning to 300RWHP tp run on 87 pump....but you would have to detune the everliving crap out of it to drop down to 246. Also a motor that big makes TONS of torque...270 is stock GT territory.

Do all that crap and its about 16RWHP stronger than a stock GT....why would you detune it to the point where its no faster than it was as a mild bolton car?
I say the guy is full of

Even if you take away the built motor and just account for the bolt-ons, some of which the op saw he should be making more than 246rwhp. Just goes to show that people should have knowledge of their stuff before throwing out numbers.

DUH he is insecure about his slow car. He lies about the mods to make it seem super kewl but has a brain sorta, he knows someone will call him out on it to race. That way the detune excuse rises to compliment the SLOWNESS.

The real question is why is he insecure. Most people are saying I got a 600hp car to appear cool but this guy says his car is slow. HMMMMMMMM

Sounds like his only mods are the exhaust...which could put a 99-04 gt at about 246 rwhp with the long tubes/ etc.
He is flat out lieing about the other stuff.

That's funnier than the guy who told me he pulled the turbo off his 4G63 Eclipse so it would get "better gas mileage."

Could it be??? An opportunity to pwn the great LaserSVT

Taken from the WIKI Ford Modular engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"5.4 L

The 5.4 L (5408 cc, 330 CID)[2] V8 is a member of the Modular engine family first introduced in the redesigned 1997 Ford F-150 as a Triton V8. Bore diameter is 90.2 mm (3.552 in) and stroke is 105.8 mm (4.165 in), the increased stroke necessitated a taller 256 mm (10.079 in) engine block deck height. A 169.1 mm (6.658 in) connecting rod length is used to achieve a 1.60:1 rod to stroke ratio. The 5.4 L is built in Windsor, Ontario at the Windsor Engine plant. The engine has been available in three different configurations since its 1997 introduction:"

And another source for the heck of it.

Engine_Specifications

So...5.4L modular engine = 330CI

BTW my SN refers to the 331 stroker (302 based) thats in my 66 stang

You guys do realize that a dyno and dyno numbers are just a tuning tool correct? Load bearing dynos will give different numbers then inertia based dynos.

The numbers mean virtually nothing. My Evo only made 427hp on a load bearing dyno but still trapped 120+mph with a weight of 3400lbs. When it was a dyno jet (intertia based dyno) and made 420ish it only trapped about 116-117.

That being said. A Mustang dyno or other load bearing dyno....246hp would probably be a good 107mph car.
