You do realize you can make a dyno read any number right? Especially with dyno's like Mustang you can change the cal file to make it read completely different. Which is the point that you guys just aren't getting.
This is obvious. But you related a dyno read out to trap speed, which means your putting weight in his dyno run. And said it'd be good for 107trap. You said "would probably,"
not might or could.
No one else has been throwing power numbers out there saying you need this on a dyno, you did - and they're saying you're wrong. Your own points are arguing against your others

That being said. A Mustang dyno or other load bearing dyno....246hp would probably be a good 107mph car.

This is exactly what I said. Factory calibrated mustang dyno 250hp is freaking fast as hell. I highly doubt my car would make 250hp on a factory calibrated mustang dyno, and I've made 312 on a dynojet and 303 on a dynapack. I've used many types of dynos and I have tons of dyno pulls + tuning under my belt. I'm too big for my britches? Give me a freaking break.

Just stay away from mustang dynos and dyno packs....use dyno jets and the #s will be very close between dynos IF the altitude is roughly the same.

Dyno #s are usually a very good indication of trap speed....especially dyno jet #s. Mustang dyno #s mean nothing to me as they are ALL over the place...way too many variables, like aerodynamic calculations, weight, ect. You can strap a stock SS camaro to the mustang dyno...dyno around 280, then tell the computer the vehicle is say 68 camaro.....and your #s will be way the heck off of your previous runs.
Mustang dyno is simply a tuning tool....its #s are not to be used to compare to anyone else.

Dyno jet is a great dyno to compare #s with everyone from 68 camaros to lightnings....it loads every car to the same weight and doesnt care what the vehicles drag CO is.

Sure the #s can be manipulated some, but its harder to do and more obvious....any reputable shops dynojet dyno can be trusted to give accurate readings.

FYI stock 03 cobras dyno between 360 and 380 on dynojets.....stock 03 cobras trap between 110-113....with some drives MUCH worse. I generally see more variation in trap speed, then dyno #s when using dyno jet #s.

and actually there is something that everyone else is also forgetting too. gearing and traction. i believe 107 trap speed should be what mid to high 12 correct me if im wrong. not 100% on that one but gears in a mustang make a world of difference. and if you can actually drive and you know how to get traction then it is possible. another thing being forgotten is the amount of torque these things make. multiplied by a lower gear (numerically higher) then your acceleration will be much greater than the factory 3:27's. there by allowing faster trap speeds

with 246 horse i dont care what gearing and how good of traction you get your still not even coming close to trapping at 107

you do realize that a stock 99-04 2v runs 14.1's in the quarter right so very close to the 13 sec range. so you throw slicks or drag radials which ever you choose and put 3:73's or 4:10's in there and launch at 3500-4k and it will cut a lot of time off. and your still missing the point of torque too. alot of people forget about that. its not all hp numbers that get you a e.t.

Mine makes 240HP and traps 103...wonder if I could hit 107 with 10 more HP?

103 is a great trap speed for 240rwhp!, but it takes alot more then 10hp to gain 3mph in the quarter mile...

I see we STILL have not figured out that numbers are numbers. Comparing trap speeds is a better way of comparing cars then comparing dyno numbers.

Have you noticed yet you're the only one in this thread that took the dyno number and put a 1/4 mile number assumption to it?

my '01 bullitt showroom stock besides 275/40 nittos ran 13.33 at 102.2 on a 1.86 60ft. 13.58 at 101.8 on the stock tire, 1.98 60ft. the car dynoed 239-240rwhp SAE on about 3 different 248c dynojets in houston. that car would have never trapped 107 - lol
