the first pic is some sort of little bar that connected to the upper and lower intake postioned as shown. This came off the stock upper and lower. I cant see what the purpose was. I have trick flow upper and lower now and wish not to install it if i dont need to. Anybody know for sure?

Next, i bought a brand new frpp stcok iron flywheel (pictured below). I had to, of course, transfer the old dowel pins over to the new one. I noticed in the old flywheel it had some sort of peice (shown below in my hand) that was mounted flush in about the same hole picture where iam holding it in the old flywheel. If this is some sort of counterweight, what next? I dont want to put it in the same spot and hope the flywheel doesnt get thrown off. I never heard of having to do anything to a new flywheel so iam hoping you guys say to just discard it and mount the flywheel in as is.

#1 is the intake ground/theft bar.

It can be safely removed

I was wondering the same thing...
I never reinstalled mine and wondered if I needed a new ground now.

theft bar lol... gotta love ford

thats odd, i just had my flywheel out of my car a week ago and put a brand new on in it. the only thing that transferred from mine were the dowel's. is that the only one? or were there more than 1 piece like that?

there was only one countersunk metal peice as shown in the picture. You would think that if we needed to reuse it, it would specify.

how many dowels did you end up with? because they look similar to that, correct me if im wrong.

i swapped over every dowel, one at a time. i beleive there was three. That last thing im holding does not bear nearly the same shape as the dowels so that cant be one. I stopped to talk to a buddy of mine who is a mechanic and he tells me the frpp flywheels come balanced and he wouldnt swap that over. I just figured maybe you stangers could give better insite.

mmm, i thought it used 4 or 5 dowls, that little thing in your hand resembles a dowl. the FRPP flywheel you got didnt come with new dowls? maybe when sombody put that old flywheel in they lost or messed up the dowl, and just put that in there so it wouldnt make if off balance.

I would call the manufacturer and ask them. They are the ones that made the unit. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW FOR SURE!!!

its a ford racing flywheel. I just figured other fox body owners may have bought one. I guess not though

I have one installed on my car except "0" balance so there were no weights on mine. My Centerforce had holes drilled in it for the 50oz imbalance.

It seems as though someone may have stuck that in there down the line and it's not supposed to be but I would not put my money on it.

Call Ford's tech line and see what they say about it. You're better off since no one has really seen the part your describing being used for balancing.
