the cops here in NC are starting to get the Hemi Chargers to replace the Camaros. And Ive seen some unmarked hemi durangos, marked chevy tahoes, older jeep cherokees, older broncos, ls1 camaros, caprices, intrepids, pontiac grand prix, and even a couple of new edge mustangs along with the normal barrage of vics and impalas.

our 2005 model crown vics make 250hp at the crank. i dont know exact numbers, but the 07 i drive is noticably faster than my old 05. several departments in GA have SRT8 chargers, there are a bunch of marauders around also. a cop car can be anything. we even have a couple of old muscle cars, including a 70 el camino SS 454 that has been heavily modded. it is painted bright magenta, and it has hidden lights and siren. Most regular people will slow down when they see the lights come on. i have had many folks try and run from me. everyone of them has either wrecked, or given up. you are never ever ever gonna outrun a helicopter, and we have 4 of those.

Why are there all these comments about being in the wrong section? This is the TALK forum! Or am I missing something here? I have read at least 5 comments (not just in this thread) tonite saying the threads should be in talk not be in tech....but this IS talk! If the mods have since moved the offending threads to the proper places which is the reason these comments seem to not make sense then I will no longer be confused. Or if that is not the case someone please offer me an explanation as to why the hell people keep saying not tech or should be talk etc.........As for cop cars from what I have read generally the suspension, charging system, tires, cooling system (waterpump, tranny, oil coolers possibly rad) are all upgraded and the engines, while on most cars stock are likely reprogrammed non restricted for example and I believe many may have different exhaust systems...I could be wrong. But I bet every force has a few of their own supermodified rarely seen by the general public pursuit cars that could hold there own against all but a small minority of street legal cars. Common sense should make most realize the odds are they are gonna win....even if you get away in the chase they will get you...someday.

Yep... what you missed is that I'm the mod that moved the thread. A comment indicating the reason for the move usually accompanies, but not always. As for others that post in threads saying that it's in the wrong forum well... they're just trying to do their part to let folks know that technical threads belong in the technical section and non-technical threads, do not.

Destin is rich, never heard of a Cobra cop but they do have Mustang GT's.

The truth of the matter, even though this thread is 2 months old, is that the police have other resources available to them. Things such as helicopters and other police vehicles. Also, unless you are on the interstate late at night, you will be held up by traffic, lights, or by turning. It does matter if you have 400000000000 horsepower if you can only hit the gas for a few seconds at a time.
