What else to hit 12's

Check out my sig and time....

Many of us have been on this quest to get a full weight, mostly stock 94-95 GT into the 12's. I think it is a lot easier w/4.10's than 3.73's. I went 3.55's because I'm just crazy. If I'd had 3.73's, I'd have my 12.xx the way I sit right now. I think the lowering springs and the heavy 18" front rims are now my newest enemies. (But the rims look sooooooo good  ) BTW, that time was posted at Maryland International Raceway, which I think is the track that 5ohhh was talking about.....

How about adding:

75hp NOS kit
traction control
subframe connectors
slicks
headers
short belt
ice the intake
take out passenger seat, spare tire, jack, any extra easy weight

My guess, is that should get you there.

i think it can be done with stock heads and cam for sure .

5OHHH - is a close friend of mine and he is well on his way to doing it .

like stated 230hp and a 1.8 or better 60ft racewweight of 3200lbs or less and it will be done

good luck

Just as was said, it doesn't take a whole lot of HP in a typical weight car to do it with practice (as Willy said), the right gearing, supsension, and tires.

My very good friend Mike took this approach and here's his results:
'01 NA GT Vert, 5 speed, Yellow with Black top

4.30's, exhaust, timing adjuster, pulleys, Pro-M Optimizer

Dyno SAE Corrected:
249 rwhp, 288 rwtq 9/16/04

Best 1/4 mile ET/Speed:
[email protected] 11/13/04

He also had centerline telstar skinnies up front and telstar rear wheels with ET streets, and he had eibach drag springs for suspension. The car had very little parts, but they were the right parts for the job of getting down the track quickly.

Let us know how you do!

too bad he and i didnt live closer together when i had my vert. would have been a good race.

my wheel and tire combo was 17x8 black bullitts up front and 16x8 black bullits out back with 26/10.5 et streets. I was also on a bone stock suspension, best 60 of 1.68

Hey guys alittle update on my combo... I forgot to list some suspension mods...

ported e7's
ported explorer..
f303 cam
4.10
5 speed
full exhaust
v6 front springs? seems to help weight transfer.
no front sway bar.
no spare tires and crap
no a/c no smog,
no air bags..
crank windows
manual locks,
16" waffle wheels
havnt decided on what kinda tire to run yet right now just have some street tires on it

Also something you might wanna look into is the A9L swap as our cars are not very cam friendly. I Have a buddy who just dropped a E Cam and GT40 Heads on his 95 Vert and only gained a tenth because the car runs horrible with the cam. Just a thought.
