Granted I'm still running the 14" tires until I get my 17" Cobra R's on the car (waiting for car to be painted first). Anyway the thing is too easy to spin and the engine seems to revv like a mofo going 60mph. I got 3:73 currently at the rear. The car pulls hard in every gear but taking off in first is kind of stupid IMO. It will leave two long rubber marks on pavement shifting into 3rd which seems cool but I think my rear end should have 3:08 for this to work better??? What do you think?

if you are still running the T5 from the 4-banger, get it out of there ASAP. its not going to hold up very long. the gears are lower in the 4-cyl tranny to best utilize the little power the 2.3 has. swap to a V8 T5 at least, and you will have a nice combo

Well I know someone with a 4 banger T5 that runs low 13's and has been using the same tranny for 2 years. I'm not worried about that, I'm saving up for a 6 speed so when I change it will be for something waay better not a little better hehe

okay here is the answer cause i was going to run a 4-banger T-5. As long as you don't run slicks very often you'll be fine. If its mainly for street use you will be fine. The broken synchros and driveshaft come when you use stickies and dump huge amounts of power into the 4 banger t-5. Keep in mind the difference is that the 4-banger gears are very very steep. When i had this question a few months ago, some guy said he had 3.55 rear end gears with the 4-banger and that it held up fine and that he was revving something like 2400RPM's at 60MPH with the 4-banger and 3.55 gears. He also says it was an incredible amount of fun if you don't mind the gas.

But keep in mind, no supercharger, and don't mod your engine too much
