What is biggest tire size in back without modding?

You don't have a chance of getting 315s under there, not even with the quads removed and a million combinations of back spacing. The biggest i've ever seen on the back with NO modifications aside from the quads removed are 275s...295s with the fender rolling and fender well hammering, as the 275s will rub the fenders on bumps and hard corners, even with good back spacing.

Well...you can put 315's out back...but this is a very vague statement. There are many factors that go into fitting any tire on a car. You will need to know all the measurements of your wheel, wheel-well & tires. Then you will have to figure out how low or high you what your car to ride and how far out of the wheel-well you what you tires to be. Then you have to figure out how much molding of the fender lips and wheel-well you want to do. It can be done, I know, I have seen it in person many times on LX's

This will be helpful in figuring out how to identify fitment of your wheels, its a good artical.

I had the oportunity to change the oil on a 2002 Roush (friend). After I screamed and yelled about the stabilizer bar and billstein shocks ect... I was amazed at the 295's on the back. The quad shock was still there.
Isnt a roush a GT with suspension upgrades?
Is the rear axle the same as the 87-95's?
Shouldnt the rims fit if there is a five spoke lug pattern? It did have a out the side exhaust.
