On my old car, 1.72 60ft with nitto 17" dr's. I pulled a 1.69 60ft with the 03 with BFG 17" DR's. PSI was in the 17 range. Launching technique was rev to 4-5k and drop the clutch. My track is treated well tho.

I would get the BFG's, they are GREAT tires, and will last longer then the M/T's

I had a set of wore out BFG 275/40/17's and would pull mid 1.6 with 12psi of air and lowering springs, now I have ET Drags and drag springs and pull mid 1.5's.

With my old BFG Dr's 275/40/17 with 03 17 x 9 wheels, I had a best of 1.78 I think. With my 275/50/15 I had a best of 1.66 with 11pds of air in them.

If you don't mind the wear on the clutch ..............................

Slipping it a bit will reduce your 60 foots.

It does take some practice to find the right amount.

I am going ot get the 275 40 17 bfg's then.

So how low of a psi can saftely go with the 17 inch drag radials? 17 psi? I see the psi varies from the size of the tire.

I just got the eibach drag launch kit with air bag and strange adjustible shocks and struts on my car.

I am hoping for a 12.99, that is my goal for the car.

So I guess you slip the clutch out more than a dump.

I managed a 1.70 60' on 245-50-16 nitto DR's and a 1.67 60' on 315-35-17 nitto DR's. I run my PSI no lower than 16-18psi. I do slip the clutch on the launch as Grady mentioned.

I have the M/T 235 60 15 radials on my car the car but unfortunately the 1st pass in those tires and on my new engine did not go as planned I ran the car with 11 PSI of air at 5800 RPM Launch 4.30 gears and boom destroyed my spider gears and shaved a moser 31 spline axle. I now have new moser 31 spline axles and a mini spool installed when I run Fun Ford Weekend in Atlanta I will let ya know. The launch was so violent off the line it hooked better than my slicks did!

Stock rearend and axles. I did purchase some Superior 31spline axles and heavy duty carrier. Dont want to take any chances with the ET Drags and the 150shot of the line..

Nitto 315's - best = 1.85, usually mid 1.9's
BFG 255/60/16's - Consistent 1.85's

The bfg's are def stickier and are much more consistent. I will be looking for some 1.7's with some more seat time & trac-lok rebuild this year.

Ok not to be depressing or anything but let me tell you what happened last night. All of you that said 1.7+ and stuff better hold on tight. Last night my freind ran his bone stock almost new M3. This kid is 16 and has never been to the track before and on his first race he cut a 1.68 60' WITH STOCK EVERYTHING INCLUDING TIRES! Ran a 13.0 @ 102 mph. WTF is up with that !!! Im selling my left nut to buy one now, either that or swapping a M3 ecu, tranny, and suspension into my car.
