I wanna get some SFC's but my regular mechanic said he wouldnt do it because he doesnt weld... but julio across the street at poncho's fart mufflers can weld and he might be able to to it... i just dont know if i would trust that place... what kinda shop am i looking for?

any Mustang specialty mechanic... most off road supply places with a mechanic bay will (or at least know where to go), last resort Mienekie

yep

Mienekie did mine and did a great job.

You can ensure a good weld by griding off paint on the areas on the underside of your car where they are to be welded. Grind down some bare metal spots on the SFCs too where the welds will be. This will make the welders job easier, give you stronger welds and save you some money in labor. Touch them up with hightemp paint after they are welded on to ensure you don't get any rust.

Just remember Mienekie is typically going to vary shop to shop as most are independatnly owned. Be very careful if you have to go to an exhaust place, make sure they have done this sort of thing before, ask them how they do it etc... just make sure they are familiar with the process. I've seen superb custom setups from an exhaust shop, and I've seen tack welds with no complete seal on tail pipes from others.

anyone with a mig welder could do it for you. just make sure you stand close-by and monitor the work. the guy who did mine was kind of lazy and didn't made all the welds MM recommends, but i was right there to tell him to do it right
