Home of the Florida Gators!
I'm getting ready to work on a friends 65 Mustang. Its needs new drums, but when I go to get them I need to know if they are 9 inch or 10 inch. I don't want to tear it all apart then put it back together just to order drums. Is there a standard size? Its a V8 manual brakes, thats about all I know. I tried a search with no luck. Thanks in advance!

What engine? 6 or V8? If a 6 I would guess 9", if an 8 could be 9 or 10.
Edit: sorry I need to pay more attention, I read right through "Its a V8 manual brakes"
I'm pretty sure the 9" were all smooth on the outside and the 10" were finned. You can just take the tire off and see if it's smooth or finned and while you're there hold a tape measure across the out side off the drum and measure, it'll measure a little more than the width of the inner shoe surface so if it's ~9.5" = 9", if it's ~10.75, 11" = 10" drum. The size is measured across the inner shoe surface so the outer measurement will always be more.

They are 10s. I've got a barely used set with new pads and hardware that I will sell very cheap.

I swapped to disks and don't need them.

PM me if interested.
