FireFighter 16yrs worked 10's &14's 2days 2nights 4 off. I'm on a disability retirement due to injury suffered on the job. I started out on a engine co. for about 10yrs but always wanted to be a truckie made the move to the truck or ladder truck for the regular folks and spent the rest of my career there until the end. spent 5 years has union president and still a proud retired memeber of the IAFF. No regrets, grooming the oldest to carry on the tradition.

working a lot of saturdays does suck, but the pay is nice an the 5 weeks paid vacation an all holidays off is nice. most guys that have a hobby like racing or kids that play sports use a day of vacation for saturdays off. i did that when my twins had fall football. I took like 7 saturdays in a row, i felt like a real person for a while there.i sold chevy's (which added to my ford passion, but i do like the vettes) an insurance an i hate commission jobs.

I sell Ford/Lincoln/Mercury. Never much cared to be a salesperson, but have about 5 yrs dealership experience in service as a tech. Never advanced all that far, though. I go to school full time as a psychology major and went into the Ford dealer looking for a part time job as a porter/lot attendant and apparently I had "potential" and was offered a sales job. I guess I am doing okay, the money is pretty good even if you are a mediocre sales person. There are alot of cool perks, driving all the new cars and not having to get dirty...by the way if anyone needs a car, I'll hook you up as best I can I have been doing it for about 6 months now, around 45hrs/week.
