I just put in my BBK CAI and i love that. My question now though is where do I go from here. What's the next (very) affordable mod i can do? I was thinking something like UD pulleys but I have heard they can mess with your electronics, is this true? Or a bigger throttle body...any suggestions and/or cheap places to buy the mods.

I put a MAC CAI on my old sixer then I went with the flowmaster dual exhaust kit. It didnt add a whole lot of power but it made the car sound soooo much better and it gave it dual tips out the back. I think I picked it up for about 350 at unlimited motorsports. i thought it was a good investment

I'd definitely look into the U/D pulley idea. Even if you have to shell out the extra dough for a 99+ set, its still worth it, imo. When I was still running my ASP U/D pulley, my trip to the dyno yielded almost a 10rwhp gain with no other real changes except a little cooler air.

I also recommend the dual exh upgrade. After that, if you have a 5 spd I highly recommend the steeda tri-ax short-throw shifter. Thats been the best $$$ I've put down on any mod yet... including the blower.

I thought about getting some pulleys for my '03, but I was told by the shop I was going to buy them from that you can experience difficulties in starting the engine if you put them on. UD pullies were really designed for use in the old big block engines. Now everything relies so much on electronics that it's easy to screw something up if you aren't careful. I decided against them, but from what I hear, they do give you a bit of a power gain. As far as throttle body, I wouldn't replace that unless you plan on getting over 300HP out of your engine. Otherwise, the stock setup will flow plenty for what you need.

I have never experienced any problems with the charging system. And the pullies work just fine on newer, electronics-oriented cars. Its not just old big blocks. The people that are having charging problems would almost definitely fix their problem if they just stick with the stock alt pulley. Not a big problem there. As for your stang, the 99+ only come with the crank pulley/balancer anyhow.

Is that so? Well, thanks for the info. I'm still considering getting some pullies, but it'll be awhile anyway since I'm trying to save up some money should I decide to do it.

Yeah...it kinda sux having to drop the extra dime for our pulley, but for what I saw on the dyno it earned its keep, imo.
