I've about had enough with my car, it never seems to be as fast as it should at the track :bang: I even upped my FP incase that was my problem because I'm running the 19# injectors. I finally got to learn how to launch on my DR's and 3.73's tonight so it wasnt a total waste. Heres my best 3 runs, all 13.5. Let me know what you think might be causing my problem. Is the stock air intake that restrictive on a H/C/I car??? Thats my only guess right now on what it could be. Also, when I had my tailpipes off, my car felt like it had more power than it does with them on... is this possible?

do you have the stock MAF? that cant be too good, I read in MMFF last month that even if your running heads etc. on 19's that sometimes you can back the pressure down a bit and gain some HP.....just thoughts....

A maf isnt gonna make much of a difference.. Something else must be up.. How do your plugs look? Lean, rich?

A PVC cold air intake would help as well, but still, it wouldnt be a huge gain, maybe 1 mph at most. I would still expect atleast 107 mph from a h/c/i settup. If you really cared, i would get it dynoed with a wideband to see where your at. But with the twins going on its not gonna matter for long.

I'll try the timing if I ever get back out there before I do the turbos. I boosted the FP up some, but I dont think it helped out any, still ran a 13.5 with 1.9 60's. I'll play around with the timing a little tomorrow and see what happens.

still, his mph isnt there... should be in the 105 range minimum, more like 106-107
His car should be fairly lightweight for an SN95, so somthing doesnt add up. Go get it dynoed, that will give you a better idea of where your at h/p wise.. Ide have to guess your in the 255-265 range.

the 60's are good for some low 13's, if the mph was higher. Im sure he can cut 1.75 60's on stock suspension, with more practice

What concerns me is the MPH. Even with the "smaller" Stage 1 cam in it, it should trap in the 105 range. The MPHs are very consistent so that leads me to believe that, the car is giving everything it's got. When you say stock intake, have you even wacked the air silencer off yet? Do you have the almighty K&N? What about the throttle body? What is your timing set at? Aluminum heads can take much more timing than iron heads can. How desperate are you to run 12's? I would say you could get there with LCAs, and Subframe connectors with a harder launch. Oh, and don't lift :D.

Sorry, forgot to say that I still have the stock suspension. For thoes runs I have my timing set to 16 degrees and fuel pressure set to 50psi for a few runs and 60psi for some others but that didnt change my time much at all. For the stock air intake I have a K&N with the rubber silencer removed, 65mm TB, and I had removed my front sway bar before I went to the track. I dont really want to drop any money into it right now to get it dyno tuned because I'll have to redo it all over again once I get my turbos on.

Last time I weighed my car (full weight) was around 3250lbs and that was when I just had my exhaust replaces, so I'm going to guess its getting closer to ~3200lbs now since all the work I've done to it. I know not having it tuned is hurting my performance, but I cant see how it would be that much.

Reminder---- bumping the FP will not give it more fuel... it bumps the pressure so you get more "spread" in the spray from the injectors... If bumping the FP was that easy, what would be the need for injectors??

Does it feel like it is laying down top end? A motor needs to breath... would be better if she werent breathing through a straw. I say make you a pvc induction with a C&L76 or Pro-M calibrated for 24#-- after you check the plugs for being white. Give it a shot... or... dont listen to me. It's your call... good luck bro.

Later

p.s. dont go overboard with advancing the timing and bumping th FP.... 50 and 60 (with the vaccuum hose off) is high!!

I havent done a compression check with my current setup yet, but when I did it with stock heads and cam they were all close to 150 if I remember.
Does it feel like it is laying down top end?
My car feels great down low but feels slow up top. As for the FP thing, I could barely break into the 13's with the stock FPR and now I got a 13.5 with my Kirban FPR so it did help out a lot.

With fuel pressure that high, I'm surprised it's not coming out of the tail pipes. Take it back to about 42 or 44. The car is probably running pig rich and once you lean it out, you could probably see another tenth or two.

I still suggest not lifting :D.
