I called yesterday and told them that i would be spending roughly $1,200 now and another $1,500 to $2,000 in a month or so to restore my '88 Saleen.

They will not give me the slightest discount! Anyone know who the Sales Manager is there?

So?

Why are they suppose to give YOU a discount?

OK. How about if I spend the $3,000 all at once? You don't think that's worth a discount? Come on, be real.

shoot, I have called Summit, Jeg's and Mustangs Unlimited for other parts I need and they offered it up!

if someone intends do give you a lot of their business, you throw them a bone.

It's just like a buyback from a bartender for tipping.

^^^^^^
No.

There is no volume in $3K. If you were to buy $10-20K worth of parts it could be enough for them to consider a discount for a one time purchase. I would continue to do business with the other companies that will give you discounts.

I would think that 50Resto has many customers that spend $3K and don't ask for discounts.

I think its pretty ridiculous for you to be asking for a discount for 1200 bucks. come on man. 1200 bucks is not a whole lot of money to them. you could drop 1200 bucks on a set of heads...thats one item with one profit margin. Why would they give you a discount?

It would be nice...

Mike picks up phone & calls Vortech and demands the 9 lb charger with aftercooler for $3,000 ....
Hello...Hello, is someone there. Must be trouble with the phone line :(

i worked retail for almost 10 years, i cant stand people the beg for a discount. i used to do everything i could to charge people extra who thought they deserved something for nothing.

on the other hand, i had no problem giving a discount to a polite customer who just wanted to get a product they needed and had no problems spending the money to do it.

discounts are nice, but people have to make a living, i guess for a big company like that its not as noticable though.

Very True!
I called and said, I am restoring a car and plan to spend a lot of money. Is it possible to get a discount based on what I spend? The first two guys I spoke to said no. I called a third and he said great!

I am not trying to be a D**k. But, $3,200 IS A LOT of money. Especially when you have two kids and a mortgage and this is just a hobby!!! every penny counts!!

Are you serious? haha they must think your ghey then! Because i'm ordering my new boss block from them and MM coil overs and a few other things which totals up to about 3300.00 and they are giving me free shipping... the block shipping alone was 150 plus probably another 100 for the rest AND giving me 5% discount!  They must not like you?! I get free shipping from them everytime i order over $500.00. But i've order almost 10k from them over the years as well...
