What's the deal with 16 x 8" wheels?

I have a 65 ragtop and I'm looking for new wheels. Will 16x8" TTII fit? I remember reading something about them not fitting stangs with disc brakes. I have four wheels disc. Any problems with this? What's the max tire size I can run?

depend on backspacing. I fit 245's all around my 66 with 4 wheel disc brakes.

These are not pre-fab charts. This information was collected from Mustang owners reporting the exact combination of suspension, brakes, wheels and tires they run on their car and anything 'special' down to make them work.

Actually I have 17's but I'm running 4.75 bs. With a 3.5 bs on a 15 in rim I had 245 in the rear.
