What's The Rev Limiter Set At From The Factory

what's it set to and for anybody who changes there's with a programmer or whatever where do you set it at?

Think it's 6250 stock maybe 6200. I left mine alone because the power curve drops off before then anyways

I am pretty sure you can turn it off with a programmer, not sure if you can adjust it to diff rpms... Best to just leave it on.

Unless they changed after 99 stock it is set to 6050 If you are hitting it when power shifting try setting it to 6200

i dunno about anyone else, but as noted above my rev limiter is somewhere between 6000 and 6200...however, when im doing a burnout, it goes all the way up to 7K!!! anyone know why it allows this?

I've never hit my rev limiter and I've dipped into the redness a couple times, I dunno whats up

The question is....why in gods name are you doing 7000rpm burn outs? Try doing them in second gear instead.

Ford is known for using heavy needles to make the stock tachs appear smoother. You can also usually see a good bit of difference between datalogged rpm and the what the tach reads. I have seen mine off as much as 500rpm.

Tachs are often calibrated to read high so the indication is "red" before the engine speed is actually there. My 94 Probe GT has seen the tach needle kiss 8000RPM even though the factory fuel cut is set for 7500. I see no reason to suspect that the MGT tach is much different.

In my Xcal tune I lowered the rev limiter to 6000. 5500 is the best shift point and if I ever get the balls to shift without lifting, I want to know the engine will just be hitting the red instead of well into it when the PCM stops the fun.

after i noticed that it did that, i quickly decided i didnt like that so if i do one now, i get the tires spinnin and lift off the gas a little so the engine is only spinning between 4.8-5.3k
