I had originally bought 315's and put them on a 10 inch rim out back, due to someone who didnt know what they were doing. They looked weird, squashed, and down right ugly. Checking into the situation 315's cant go on 10 inch they need 10.5 or even bigger. So....getting a 10.5 on the rear and depending on the offset of the rim, the edge of the tire is going to definately extend past the top of the fender. I was told 285 is the largest you could go with the 05 mustangs without flaring the fender wells. My car hasnt been lowered either (which I want to do) but that will come into effect as well. I have 285's now and no problem.

I have used the Nittos 555 DR 305/45/18's in the rear and now run the Mickey Thompson ET Streets in the same size.

You can go up to a 305 depending on your aspect ratio and wheel size. This is only good though if you are running a Watts's Link such as the Saleen. If you run a panhard bar then the Drivers side will rub on the inner fender well and the pass side will rub n the outer fender lip. This however, depends on if you are lowered as well...

thanks for the repsonses i would like to lower the car as well (but do financial issuses i lack funds for mods for a little while) but thats besides the point if its lowered say an 1" or 1 1/2" will the 285s rub on the fenders or shorten the turn radius? (granted it would depend on rim size and tire profile) i wish i could be more specific but i'm still not sure what wheel/tire combo i want to run

Question:

How do you think 275/35/19F, 295/35/19R would look on a non-lowered 07 GT?

I have a chance to a great deal on wheels...they are 19x9 and 19x10.

275/35-19 is 26.5" tall, 10.9" wide
295/35-19 is 27" tall, 11.9" wide

Up front that would look ok, but on the back it will still have the same fender gap as it is the same height tire as stock, just several inches wider. You could lower it 1" front and back and not have issues.
