Where to find Bare 302 Block

Hey guys, who knows where to find a NEW bare 302 roller block?

i have a Junkyard block but it was out of the car already so ive decided to sell it to someone who needs a block RIGHT now since i want be home for a little longer now


anyway im spareing no expese with the shortblock, but i dont want to spend the money on a Sportsman block..or a Dart etc.......

Didnt Jegs sell bare 5.0 blocks, they arent on the website anymore tho?

No need to buy a NEW 302 BLOCK!

They cost about $300, but you can probably pick up a FOX model engine with stock forged pistons for that price!

Or when its all said and done, you can just buy a nice shortblock for $1700 or so.

What are your goals, what do you want to do?

A new block doesnt really do much at all anyway...

Also the tollerances in a new block will vary so differently because it isnt "seasoned" and the stresses arent broken in yet.

So... just buy used... makes no difference in performance unless its cracked!

i just want a fresh bore for the most part, i have a block already that definitly needs to be bored which is all well and good, but id like to have a clean slate to start with.

Heres a list of the parts going into it, * denotes parts already on hand.

Keith Craft 347 or 331 kit, depending on block.
*Canton Oil Pan 7qt
* Pro Products Intake, Home ported n Polished
* Crane 2030 Cam
* P&Ped GT-40 Heads
* 1:7 Roller Rockers
* Comp Pushrods
* Comp Roller Lifters
* 24lb Injectors

other piddly crap to put it together, some of the gaskets n stuff.......

anyway, does anyone sell NEW production Block???

i wouldn't get a stock block but yeah they sell them do a search on google you'll find tons of places....summit even sells them...but i would atleast try to find a old mexican block and have it bored

i think that $300 special is long gone.... ive been looking and i think the only remaining blocks(new) are the sportsman block($800)....anyone else know anything?

i STILL dont understand why you want a brand new block when a used block does the same damn thing.

switching a block wont make a difference unless its cracked.

i will possibly scour the yards when i get home since i cant do anything right now, i was just gonna get one of the 300$ ones and call it good.

Most storker kits use a .030 over bore so you will prlby need a 306....if you don't bore it you have a 327 or a 344 instead of 331 or 347....and with 306 you can still go to 310 on the better blocks sportsman and R....dart blocks can go much further....but $390 is probly the best price you'll find.

i thought those were like 900 or better....

if i could get a aftermarket block for like 500 id do it but 700 is a bit steep.

do they still make A4 blocks?

i guess ill keep the one ive got...for now to bad the Dart's are so ungodly.

nomore a4's, but theres a surpluss of them in untouched condition from numerous sources, but theycost the same and perform the same as the new DART SPORTSMAN series block.($1700)

The dart sportsman block is so much better as it required less machining, and is alreayd basiclly machined for a roller, just gotta drill and tap 2 screws for the spyder hold down.

some dude on turbomustangs scored a A4 for $500 with pistons and rods.
