i was thinking of going to a salvage yard to see if i could pick up a set of 24lb injectors. i know there are many vehicles that have injectors that will fit into my stang but what about the maf?

The Fords make adjustments for the injector sizes inside the computer firmware. The aftermarket MAF companies don't have that option, so they play with the MAF transfer function. That allows them to fool the computer into changing the amount of time that the injectors fire. The other option is to use a portable tuner device like a Tweecer to change the computer's program.

The bottom line is that swapping one Ford MAF for another won't do anything towards making your 24 lb injectors work properly with an unmodified A9L or A9P computer.

I recently bought a 75mm ProFlow MAF calibrated for 24lb injectors from jdsperformance.com, it was $206 with free shipping. It has worked great.

I tried ordering the same MAF from Summit first, and they sent me a 90mm instead of what I wanted, so back it went, and I called jdsperformance.

I hope this isn't a no-no putting out a plug for these guys.

Earlier I completely missed the 24lb injector part.

Basically, jrichker is correct. There is no way to make a 24lb injectors, and larger stock maf work (reliably) on a stock A9* computer. To do this you would need to modify the original Ford tune/calibration.

If you are just doing a SD to MAF conversion (with stock 19lb injectors), then there are several options for finding a stock MAF unit.
