What is a good 2 or 3-core aluminum radiator for a 5.0? I hear that the universal ones work really well, which ones do you recommend? I also plan on finding a Lincoln Mark VIII fan and 180degree T-stat, or maybe a Proform electric fan. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I have a brass 3-core and with a 180therm the car runs too cold.
I just put a 192, but havent driven it far enough yet to see how much it warmed it up.

Unless you are having overheating problems, spend your money elsewhere.

I would like to spend my money elsewhere too, but last weekend I had serious overheating problems. I was in traffic in 40 degree weather in the rain, and I had to turn the heat all the way up to keep the temp from peaking too high. I was the only car to have steam coming off the hood. It was embarassing because I was with my girlfriend and it was her first time in my car for a long period of time. I want an aluminum one for sure, but thanks for the help!

Have you checked your fan clutch to see if it's working?

Summit sells very good radiators. They sell Griffin radiators under their name. The 31x19 is only about $189 and cools extremely well.

If you get an electric fan, DO NOT get proform. They are junk. I'd go with either a mark VIII or a dual ramchargers fan.

I am using the one Summit sells under there name, but its made by Northern. It does not have a trans cooler in it, but I am running a 28,000 GVW external one anyway.
Here it is with my MarkVIII fan on it.

Here is the full cooling system information.

I agree with 50mustang001. I got the same one from summit and cools like crazy. I've had it almost 2 years now. It will take some slight modification to fit, but well worth the time :) .

I think a Griffin radiator is a good bang for the buck for a radiator.....You might want to look into getting a Fluidyne Aluminum Radiator (3 row)....I think www.fourvalve.com was selling them for just under $350 bucks.....It is a lot of money for a radiator but its up to you....
