Yep... I've had an off road h with flows.... too loud. To the point where I was getting followed home by cops.

I use an ultraflow straight through muffler. My goal is to be as quiet as possible though. I seriously doubt you will notice any real difference between brands. Once you remove the cats its going to be unbelievably loud with those one chambers.

ok. i realize that without cats it will be loud i just dont want to cross the line to the point that it is loud in a bad way. that is why i was worried about getting the o/r x pipes. i know that the h pipes will take away most of the rasp while keeping it loud.

This..

IF you go with an Offroad H, it will sound EXACTLY like it does now, except 3 times louder...

If you go with an X, it will be 3 times louder and more raspy....

so really between the x and the h there isn't one that is louder than the other just one more raspy than the other. i like the way both sound just never heard any in person. just dont know if the x pipe will bring too much rasp to my exhaust to the point where i dont like the sound. like i said before i havn't heard a 5.0 with my same set up and o/r x pipes, dont know exactly how raspy it will be.

To me the h pipe is a clasic muscle car sound. While a x pipe is more modern sounding. It just seems to me every 5.0 should have an h and mod motors should have an x....

I used to think this as well, until I installed my longtubes and offroad X while I still had my flowmasters on... It made the flowmasters smoother and more mellow.. I actually really like it..

To be honest, I think my car sounds like ass now until I hit about 3000+ RPM
