Which starter to buy with a 2.3 to .0 swap???

I have a 93 lx 2.3 that I'm swapping in a 5.0.

I have a 95 5.0 engine and a 90 GT convertable AOD trans. The only starter I have is the one from the 2.3 and that's a 3 bolt, so it won't fit. The 90 and the 95 calls from different starters. Do I order the starter for the trans or the engine? I counted the teeth on the flex plate and it has 164.

I personally would use one of a 94-95 Mustang because your motor is a 94-95. That means you will have a 94-95 harness to go the the starter. The 92-95 5.0L are both 2 bolts starters as well as trans.

Should be the same starter as a '93- 5.0, since the block and bellhousing and all the accompanying parts are interchangeable with a 93. I went cheap and bought an Autozone rebuilt starter....hasnt let me down yet and i've ran it for 3 years now.

isn't there a starter on some years that are a little smaller... i thought i read that somewhere
