Im leaning towards either the Vortech SC entry level kit or the Novi 1000, or do you think my engine could handle the boost of an S-trim? I cant spend over $3,000, I have 30lb inj, 255 in tank, adjustable FPR, i will also be getting a T-Rex. I dont want to run an FMU do you think this fuel system could handle it? My mods are below, The compression is 10:1 so how much boost is safe? Thanks

10:1 is too high man, I dont think 6psi is safe, honestly. Your way way too high on compression, whoever built that motor did not intend on boost, they built it for juice.

If your dead set on a blower, look for a nice used procharger set up that comes with an intercooler. While you probably could get away with a straight 5lbs w/o an IC, id just be more comfortable with one

No there's lot of guys running 10:1 and having no troubles.....
Novi 1000 would probably be better cause your not planning on going high with boost, and they come with a 8 rib pulley setup and aluminum discharge tube and on average are cheaper....The SC is similar without the stuff mentioned but flows a bit more CFM and can make more boost (which you don't need).
I'm running a novi 1k and love it.
If your looking to cool the incoming air with it....look at water injection

you can get a good deal on a novi 1000 from steve at houston performance
it does look like the best choice for you

ps...drop the compression and your options open up

I'm running 10 psi with a Procharger D1SC (intercooled) on a 10:1 motor. We originally set the car up for spray but switched it to the blower. 534 rwhp with a RICH tune. I would say you could easily run 6 psi without an intercooler with a safe tune. You could always buy the base Vortech or Paxton blower (V-1 SC Trim or Novi 1000) since you don't want the FMU anyway and add an intercooler (and bigger injectors) later on down the road if you want more boost. Good luck!

With my minor list of mods (see sig.), Paxton told me the Novi 1000 would not be a good choice.....here is what they said.........

"I think that the novi 1000 will not work for your set up. I dont think
that the novi 1000 will push enough air to creat boost with all of your
mods. "

What's the deal with that????

LOL....I think they're were just trying to get you to spend more money on a Novi 2000.
Anyways....if want proof go over to superchargerhelp.com and ask them the kind of power they're making with this little blower.
I'm running box stock edelbrock performer heads and intake, 65mm/75mm, shorty headers, 2 1/2'' back from there, 42lbers, tweecer (stock cam and bottom end)....at 10lbs I'm running almost 120mph

of course the did,, they want to upsell you... I don't see any reason in your mods for a cause of concern... call vortech and ask them...

Negative...the reason why the tech's told you this is because you will not be running enough psi since your combo is too free flowing...You'll probably see about 2lbs of boost with the 5-6lb pulley so in order to see the intitial 5-6psi of boost you'll need to upgrade to a 10lb pulley...Please keep in mind that Vortech owns Paxton so the Novi 1000 and the SC-Trim are virtually the same thing...You don't have to spend the extra money on an S-Trim...the SC-trim is way more efficient and cost about half the money as the S-Trim...all you have to do with the SC-Trim is buy a blow off valve, boost timing retard, bigger fuel pump, and a bigger pulley...(this will voide your warrenty from 3 years to 1 year) all for about less then 1000K and have the same potential as the S-Trim...where the SC-Trim and the S-Trim differ is the SC-Trim is only capable of making like 22lbs of boost while the S-Trim is just barely more than that...But who really runs at 22lbs of boost? on a street car? Basically the SC-Trim with minor upgrades is just as good...But now here's where you can run into problems with your compression being so high...I would consult your engine builder about how safe boost will work with that much compression...

Too free flowing??...he's only got an intake. Guys with good flowing intakes, heads and cams still atleast see 4lbs. With just the intake he'll see 5lbs and a powerpipe will put him to 6-7lbs.

Did you read his sig? or did you just make a ignorant comment?

Edelbrock 6037 heads
Cobra intake extrude honed

A powerpipe will put him to 6-7lbs of boost?
...and a K&N filter will add another 25HP to the combo?

Well its like turbos, but not as extreme. A lot of the blowers out there with higher models are different chiefly in efficiency, meaning they have a better ratio of power output than the other models because they drain less power at the same boost levels.

13psi on blower a can make +110hp
13psi on blower b can make +140hp

all because of efficiency.

Yeah I was talking to you but I was talking about cvtv...he made the comment about the what the tech told him and you were refering to what the tech said when you made your comment.
What do you mean how does a power pipe add 1-2lbs???? Do you know what a powerpipe is? Most powerpipe manufactures say they add 1-2lbs. Look it up or ask about it.
I put on a power pipe and went from 8-10lbs of boost, I don't know how more clear I can be.

Okay I'll show you the math so if he see's 5lbs, (that would be 5+(1 or2)= 6-7lbs.

Your trying to make me look bad but your just making yourself look like an idiot

WOW what a pissin contest going on it here!! Why don't you get the $1600 blower and upgrade the pulleys when you get more money, give it a shot. It's not hard to upgrade later on if you don't like what you see. I wouldn't even get a powerpipe yet. You can find them used on ebay and on here.. Or the upr for 150$$ And you will have a baseline to go with.... It's your desicion, and nobody elses bro, just get what you can afford and have fun with it...
