Which Tires??

I've got 02 Gt with the factory 17 bullit wheels and tires. I need a tire that is going to hook up the best and also be very streetable. I was told the nitto drag radial would be my best option. Also I'm very tire ignorrant and need to know what sizes I should get. Thanks a million

Nitto NT555R 275s on the rear w/ Nitto NT555 245s in the front on the stockers.

or, some BFg KDWs or KDW2s, same sizes.

Drag radials are the best if you're not worried about tire life,they will typically last about 10-15000 miles depending on your driving style. Other than that,you're gonna get what you pay for...so get the best tires you can afford,as long as they're a name brand.
Size-front-245/45-17
rear-you can run a 275 but the factory width rim will not let the full tread touch the gound and you're no further ahead. a 255 or 265 is lots.

this might help you understand the sizes a little better. I just went to 275/40/17 on all four corners, they look huge in the front.

Except I'd go for NT555R2 on the front, it's a semi slick and similar compound to the DR on the back but with a stiffer side wall, should give you more cornering grip and less plough on understeer.

I was unaware of the Nittos lasting only about 15k. Money isn't a factor in this so I would like whichever would hook up the best and last the longest heh. Maybe asking too much but that's what I am looking for.

you won't be able to get both, as the requirements are opposits.

Also I'd say 15k on a set of tyres is pretty darn good. Driving enthusiastically I'd probably only see 6-8k at the very best on normal tyres.

BFG KDW and Nitto NT555 are what i have found to be the best of both worlds... you will sacrafice grip, but get more life then a strait drag radial (BFG KD, and nitto DR). i got around 20-25 on each and was pleased with the grip. the BFG KD would be my choice if money and longevity was not the largest concern, however i put down 200-400 miles a day, so i have to leave grip behind currently and need longevity (so i have the fuzion ZRI)

BFG KD is not a drag radial tire, it's just a "dry road" tire while the KDW is dry/wet tire.

Do you know if there is any longevity difference between the KD and KDW tire ?
