. The T56 costs a couple hundred bucks more than the TKO600. I think it would be cool to have the extra gear between 4th and 6th, but not sure if it really has a practical value."Stock" is a jokeMustang5L5 said:On a stock GT, i'd get the TKO 600. You aren't making nearly enough power yet to take advantage of the T-56's gear ratios. You'd actually be slower
. And I'm planning ahead -- even if my T-5 weren't already coming apart, I am planning to make more than enough power next year to take care of it for good.HairyCanary said:I'm a cheap bastard too. Shouldn't, unless you are making sick power. I cross the line in 4th, and it's 1.00 on both the T56 and the T5 I have now.Sleepy McNastee said:Do people shift into fifth gear at the track with a 6spd?
Changing the final overdrive to 0.62 and running 4.10's would give you similar results to running a 0.68 final overdrive with 3.73's. Not exact, but in the ballpark.GreenMustangGt said:all i know, is that if the t56 has a higher gear, that means i can run a higher rear-end gear and still cruse at the same highway speed, like maby i coudl have 4:10's and it would stay at the same rpm as my 3:73's on the highway. so this would make the car faster(if re-geared)... right?

Edit: With the 3.73's, I would have to trap above 128 mph to require shifting out of 4th.

Altogether I figure the TKO600 will run me about $2200. The T56 about $2400.Sleepy McNastee said:Hmmm. 128 is pretty high for a street car. Maybe the TKO600 is the way to go...How much cheaper is the TKO?
