TwEECer RT or SCT Xcalibrator2?

What is the most user freindly and will do the best job? opinions please. I have the following mods:

E-303 cam, Roush 200 Heads, Trickflow street intake, BBK 70mm TB, 73mm C&L MAF, #24 injectors, 155lph fuel pump, BBK shorties, Pypes X, and Flowmaster cat back.

I didn't want to get too crazy with mods. I'm looking for a good street performer I'm not going racing. Wile my car runs, it does not idle very good and I know I should feel an increase in power over stock but not without a tune right!

XCal 2 does not work on 94-95 GTs (it does work on 94-95 V6's) so of those two, the TwEECer is your winner if it's a V8. The SCT Pro Racer package DOES work with 94-95 V8 Mustangs, but it includes a chip and burner.

There is a Tuner shop near my house and they can install a chip and do a full dyno tune. They have a good reputation but is $950.00 for a complete tune better than trying myself with no experince? And does the $400.00 price for the Tweecar include the chip?

The Tweecer does include the chip - it's all built in. The learning curve is pretty steep, but there are a lot of people here that are very helpful, like Grady and a few others. We sell a tuining video that is really 100% for SCT Pro Racer people, but the function names are so similar and the tuning concepts are identical that it may also be helpful with your tuning if you decide to go the TwEECer route.

You are correct an experienced tuner would do a great job in a lot less time, but $950!!! YIKES!!! We charge about $500 for a dynotune here in Ohio and the national average is about $650 from what I know. Where are you located?

I'm in Michigan, The $950.00 also includes the chip but yes I agree this is expensive. I am pretty technical as my career is Biomedical electronics and computers. I feel that I could catch on. It looks like the biggest learning curve is all the terminology. I'm not looking to make a race car, I just want it to run strong and idle like it is supposed to. Does it come with a basic tune to start from that will work. I'm almost thinking that having someone do this might take the fun right from me. How far down Ohio are you

There is a very good getting started list of what changes to make with the "common" type mods like 180 t-stat fan settings, alittle explain on spark like the global and tables, rev. limits ect. with a tweecerR/T. Its not a one stop shop for a base tune but there are plenty here and on the eectuning forums that jump in and help or will point you in the correct direction to search under.

We are near Columbus, but tune several times a month near Akron, OH. When we tune here and in Akron the price includes a chip and switch cable and about an hours dynotime.

The TwEECer does not come with a base tune - but there are a lot of base tunes out there. The SCT Pro Racer Package does come with a base tune custom made for your car - depending on the dealer you get it from - some don't supply tunes - we do.

Do you need a laptop to run this setup? After I get some more mods I may come to Columbus for a tune.

Yep, you really do need a laptop for EITHER the Pro Racer package or TwEECer and if you really want to do it right you need a wideband. Without a wideband you are just guessing at the tune.
