Folks, I'm stumped on what to do.

I think I want silver/polished aluminum wheels for my fox body, because that chrome just seem unnatural. And the wheel I really want is the polished aluminum 2003 Cobra SVT wheels for my 4 lug fox body, however, I can't find any place that has them. I can only find them in chrome.

So I would like your opinion on what wheel looks better on a stock 1992 Blood Red GT.

a. Chrome 2003 Cobra Wheels
b. Chrome1995 Cobra R Wheels
c. Silver/Polished 1995 Cobra R Wheels.

Your answers mean something (as I make my choice tomorrow).

Thanks!

I agree, but the manufacturer says they are not making machined 03's until the end of year 2007, thus only the chromes are available. Thus, I have a dilema of getting chrome 03's or machines 95's.

What's everyone's opinion?

I have had about every kind of finish on a wheel I can think of and I still am a fan of the silver, looks classy yet subtle. If I were you, although I love the machined 03's, I would get the silver R's in 17in. I think they look awesome on red foxes when cleaned up. I agree that sometimes chrome seems "too much" on some cars, but it's hard to tell until I see it on the car. I don't know if you've ever had polished wheels or not, but they required a lot of upkeep to keep them looking their best. Polished looks awesome when brand new, otherwise plan on spending about 3 hours every few months to polish the oxidation and "film" off of them. There's my $.02, Good Luck :nice:

Keep in mind all OEM and even many knockoff wheels that are polished now a days have a clearcoat over the polish. They require the same maintenance as any other OEM wheel. Do not polish them if they have a clearcoat.

That may be in true in some cases, however not in all, more specifically not in my experience. I have had option C. " Silver/Polished 1995 Cobra R Wheels" in the polished form, and they were a bear to maintain. If you are going to get polished, I would highly recommend making sure they do have a clearcoat.

5 LUG Silver!

Thank you to everyone who responded.

I have (reluctantly) ordered the "chrome" 03 Cobra wheels with a nexen 3000 245/45/17 tire, which should arrive next week.

They stopped making the silver 03's and it was very difficult finding silver 95 Cobra R's. So........I went with the 03's in chrome.

I hope its not too much bling for my fox, but I know it will be odd looking at it up to the point fresh paint is put on the beast.

Thanks again everyone!
