who's running 40 series flowmasters and o/r x pipe?

I got a killer deal on a o/r UPR x pipe..already had 40 series flows. Installed the x and mils...now my flows sound like cherry bomb glasspacks!
I had a MAC o/r H with 40 flows on my 99gt, sounded great! I'm not digging the x-pipe sound..but a PITA to swap the thing for a H. Is it just the brand of X pipe? Sounds ok at idle, just when it winds up, the glasspack sound is driving me nuts!

I have the American Thunder catback which has the 40 series with it I believe and have a O/R Prochamber arriving tomorrow hopefully...I can tell you when that gets installed

The American Thunder catback comes with the 40 series "Delta Flow" mufflers...They are somewhat less aggresive than the original 40 series 2 chamber flows.

I got rid of mine. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...If it is bad news.

X pipe sound

It's my understanding that to keep that low agressive rumble we all love from a 40 series 2 chamber flowmaster you need to stick with an h pipe. The x definitely outflows the h and that is why the sound characteristics are totally different.

No its not just the UPR, actually the worst sounding (as far as glasspack/tin can rattling) will be either BBK or Bassani with the "stamped" design.

Absolutely different sounds between H & X pipe. H pipe is louder than X pipe. I have 2 chamber Flows & an H pipe on mine and I love the sound.
