most other car forums have certain forum rooms where you have your own thread, and you post progress of your car. some people have like 80 page long threads and every now and then or whenever you feel like it you can take pics, find your thread and update it. so if somoene is interested in your car they can find your "build up" thread and read it start to finish. which in a textbook manner would be from where you started to how your car sits now.

just wonderin why we cant have one.

There's so many posssibilities for forums. THe nice thing about this setup is that between the talk and tech forums, you get a little bit of everything. Someone else brought this up before, I forget who. I think theres quite a few people that go through some threads in this setup whereas if they were a lot of different, sub-forums, they wouldn't get as many views.

I think that it should be kept the way it is. Seems to be getting good activity.

I think it's real cool, but there's nothing keeping people from putting up progress threads/update threads in talk. So either way, it's good

well can we get an announcement or something like a special icon next to these threads in talk so we know they are build up threads. like have an option to check in the new thread thing that makes it a build up thread?

something like that?

even if you announce somehow that you can now do such a thing in talk would help

Seems like a fairly concrete proposition.

I may as well chime in with my thoughts....

A while back I suggested the creation of a 5.0 ecu tuning forum.
It has worked fairly well, but there have been countless threads started there that should have been in the tech section.
Also, there have been several posts in the tech section that should have been in the edcu tuning forum.
For the last week I have been debating on whether or not to request killing that forum, and having everything moved into the general 5.0 tech forum.

My point is that continued division of the forums can add confusion.

I do like the idea though

But what I would like is a link near the avatar, that would lead to a 'garage' type page.

That would be sweet

Exactly

How many tries did it take to get the arrow to line up with the 'My Garage'
