widest tire on a fox body

i would really recommend trying a search on this topic man...there are a ton of threads about it. It will depend on your wheel size and backspacing and whether or not you would consider beating the inner fender, flipping the quad shocks and/or rolling the fender lips.

If you have air bags, then you might be able to go bigger than most. I know HissingCobra has 295 bfg's on his 79 and he has an air bag on one side to keep from rubbing. You'll prob. want a 10" wheel with 6.5 backspacing.

Yep, you're right. I do have the 295's and they're mounted on 15x8 Weld Draglites with 4.5 inch backspacing. I have an airbag in each side and did not have to beat any inner or outer quarter panels. I keep the airbags inflated to 35 psi and they work great. Look at the following pic's, you'll notice that the tires protrude slightly out past the quarter panel. If that's not your cup of tea, you'll have to go with another size wheel/tire combo. Good luck!
