Widest tire on Corbra R wheels?

take note amp, you have an 88 which has smaller spaces for tires. 90-93 has a larger space that will allow a wider tire. super302 has a 92 and fits into this range. if i had to guess, you wouldnt be able to do the same setup that 302 has without rubbing issues.

good point, but i had 255/45/17's on the back of my 90 vert (91+ had larger, b/c of pony rims)
I was running 245's up front

Only changes for 91-93 were the front fenders, rears were not touched in that matter.

Amplifier.. to be more specific, why don't you get backspacing etc information for these guys to answer your question accordingly?

93 Cobra R wheels are 5lug wheels. No such thing as 4lug origional Cobra R's period. Yours being 4lug, must be aftermarket wheels.

95 R's look like this..

You can check out my wheels on my website at the following address:

Go under the Ford section and click on 1988 Mustang GT. It is a baby blue color Stang and view picture number 6. You will see that the current tire is 225/45/17. Will a 245/45/17 rub or should I just go with a 235/45/17 tire up front?

What is the difference between a 275/45/17 and a 275/40/17. Which tire should I use out back? Will I have to reverse the quad shocks or remove them completely? I also have a question about my front tires. Will a 245/45/17 rub or should I just go with a 235/45/17 tire up front? Information greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have 17x8 up front and 17x9 in the back with 4.5 and 5.5 inch backspacing. There are 255/45 all around. I don't think I can go any wider out back with the quad shocks. Also up front they rub a little going around a corner. My car is lowered 2" though. Its a 91 GT.
