Will 275/50R15 tires fit on 10-holes?

I'm trying to go as wide as possible with drag radials or possibly slicks, but I don't want to buy fancy wheels like Drag Lites or Pro Stars. Most of my buddies use old 10-holes as wheels for drag tires, but how wide can you go? I looked up Radial T/As in the above mentioned size, and it says it needs a 7.5 inch rim, but I don't remember if 10-holes are like that, would it work?

Yeah I have 275s on 15s. They're wide

It's really too much tire to work well on that narrow a rim, but it will "fit."

It will fit on the wheel, yes.. but I wouldn't go crazy on the highway or around corners, it won't be too stable and may possibly pop off the rim.

Yeah, mine came on the car like that and stick out too far on the rim. For ten holes I'd go with 225 maybe a little wider.

You can put them on a 7 inch wheel yes...I've seen it done and what it looks like and there is a lot of extra "buldge". If they were on an 8" or 9" wide wheel you'd get much better traction with them. I personally went for 235/60/15 ET Street Radials for my extra 10 holes.

Even if they are drag radials, my plan is to use them exclusively at the track, so I'm not to concerned with street/highway handling.

how did they hook? i'm looking into getting a pair of them this week, not really sure what to expect

Honestly I've only got to try them out once so far. But it was on a very cold night (near freezing) and I had no line lock....so traction wasn't good at all. But I've tried them on the street on a warmer day before and without a burnout I can floor it in 1st gear and get perfect traction....and that's saying something considering I spin into 3 gears with my normal radials.

sounds good, i noticed it was either 235's or 275's and as others have said 275's on a 7" is kinda sketchy, even if track only, i have to drive maybe 10 miles to the track

For what it's worth, the 235's don't look small by any means. Think of them as a 26X10.5-15 ET Street.....exact same specs.

Yeah, I was wondering if the 40 mm treadwidth difference would really help that much between the 235 and 275 tires. The problem with me is I'm running 245/50R16 right now, so at the track, I'll have narrower tires on the back then the front.

I got 275/50/15 M/T et street radials on my turbine wheels and they fit ok, shouldn't be a problem with the 10 holes.

The 235 Mickey Thompsons are actually just as wide (if not slightly wider) than 245/50/16's anyway....I wouldn't worry about it looking stupid.
